Was wiping the truck down today and found some more paint imperfections from the factory. FML
Literally right above the tail light. Going to chat with the dealership about fixing it. They fucked up royally because the paint has started to crack in that area as well. How hard is it to paint a damn truck at the factory? So frustrating.

Paint imperfections :
1) red splotches in the black two tone between bed and cab
2)Massive pinhole in paint on driver rocker panel
3)big ass scratch on skidplate
4) these two new pinhole above tail light

I know what you’re saying.

I had to back out of 2x RHO deals due to paint quality issues and scratches from the factory, and the 3rd one was much better. Mostly because it’s white and doesn’t show its flaws as much as the 2 others that were black.

But these things are not perfect that’s for sure. Hopefully the dealer will make it right for you though!

No it's worse, the uaw painted them

do you just shit on the union in every post? If you're that against unions maybe buy a non union vehicle, btw these are painted by robots.
Unions have proven time and again to be the worst thing to happen to American auto plants. Facts.

Chris

They have ruined the American automotive industry, change my mind.
Apparently you work for them

Oh,are robots prepping the panels with a lint free cloth and final clean before paint? They must be responsible for denibbing and buffing to huh?

I have paint issues all over my truck as well especially where they added the two tone. That wasn’t done by robot, that was definitely by Ray Charles 😂.

I’ve seen better paint come from Maaco. The unions allow the workers to drink, get stoned you name it without repercussions.

Automotive and for that matter, most unions suck. And the people who are unionized care more about “their rights” than the end consumer and the quality of their work.

When I lived in Illinois, I avoided union shops like the plague. Be it for AC work on your home, pipe fitting etc. I hired private , got better results and spent a 1/3 while still supporting by brothers and sisters.

Chris

Unions had their place before labor laws. Now they can go away like the horse and buggy.

They will never go away. Too many people profiting from the racket.

That stinks. I'm dealing with my own paint issue where they slopped sealer around the rear cab window and didn't clean it off the cab and painted over it! Wth! But, the dealer is being super helpful about it.

WHY DID YOU ACCEPT THE TRUCK????

They have ruined the American automotive industry, change my mind.
Apparently you work for them
Yeah bro, it's definitely not the money hungry corporation cutting corners, pinching pennies, outsourcing, paying a former CEO 20 million to run the company into the ground, and cutting manpower at every level to funnel more money for stock buybacks that do nothing to improve quality, products, or any benefit rather than lining shareholder pockets. Totally sounds like the workers fault.

Explain the poor work quality. That falls DIRECTLY on the worker regardless of what’s going on with the business. Strawman argument.

Chris

bought from Mark dodge and was shipped to my house in Montana so couldnt do that. Plus this is not something you would catch immediately. it took me almost a month of having the truck to notice it. The dealer will make it right.

Anyone defending union work after the quality of these trucks is a fucking idiot. Period. These trucks are built like shit, zero give a shit whatsoever. some crackheads from section 8 detroit assembling my shit. Love it.

I really think all the issues can be attributed to certain shifts at the factory. I've seen videos of the place and it looks like they grabbed a bunch of random people off the street and gave them jobs. No one in uniform, people dressed like they work at Walmart. Shaniqua over here installing center consoles with 6 inch nails and giraffe eyelashes...WTF is going on?? OSHA, hello?

I have no horse in this race you guys got going on, but maybe if they paid more to the workers, and required more skilled labor we would get better trucks. From google they pay about $15 an hour and that’s not too far from McDonalds pay. So we get McDonalds quality too I guess

McDonald’s is at least consistent, if nothing else. Not so much at the Ram plant.
