Well love the truck, but they really missed the mark with the exhaust. I know that Corsa and Borla will be coming out soon. I just wished they would’ve given the option to close the exhaust off similar to how the raptor exhaust is.

Mrt extreme pipes sound good but drone slightly at highway speed from what i have gathered. ill likely go this route but would like to see some more videos first.

im also waiting on the AWE and Corsa to wrap up. However, I did see this the other day. Sounds.....interesting!

I'm waiting for someone to install a valved cutout on the stock exhaust and just copy the build. Not interested to have loud exhaust all the time. Otherwise stock will be just fine.

MBRP is supposedly also working on something. With what they did with the GM 6 cylinders back in 2010ish, I'm giving them first right of refusal before making any decisions.

I pegged my flappers open tonight and got about 10-15% more sound at lower rpm’s since they open themselves es regardless at higher rpm’s that did not change. I also fine idle to be a bit more throaty. Nice part is it is an almost free mod anyone can do while we wait for options. Bonus no more exhaust rattle after doing it.

Might be a dumb question, but what is involved in doing that and any downside?

Thinking about doing the same thing , what did you use to hold the flaps open

Large stainless washer I pre bent to make install a bit easier. Really anything you have laying around like flat stock would work.

Two band/hose clamps and something metal to go between them. If someone wanted to hear the change just go under the truck and spin one of them open. I will take a picture in the morning. Not sure of any downside besides it being louder and possibly slight drone which is why I assume they put them on for?

Here you go

I have the @MRT Performance trail rated system, as I said in another thread, if you're looking for loud, this is not for you. If you're looking for a subtle noise increase, but a deeper smoother tone, and the valves get removed, this is for you

Their description on the website is spot on, I can't state it better myself

How is the drone with the trail rated?
