First Real Problems

Infotainment Screen Module is "supposed" to arrive today...

If it arrives today, I might have her back tonight, Saturday, or Tuesday, if it arrives late in the afternoon.

...if not, then....... I wait some more.

**It is frustrating to pay for a vehicle that is not in my driveway.

I keep hearing The Blues Brothers song, "Rubber Biscuit," talking about a "Wish Sandwich."

Here are some of the lyrics, for those of you so young they might have missed this outstanding piece of American Blues:

"~the other day you know I had a wish sandwich
Well a wish sandwich is the kind of a sandwich
Where you have two slices of bread and you
Wish you had some meat
Bow bow bow"

My Version:

"~the other morning you know I have a Wish Driveway,,,
Well a wish driveway is the kind of driveway
where you have the concrete and you
wish your truck was sitting on it
Bow bow bow"

The service coordinator called me today.

The module for the Infotainment screen is taking longer than expected. (Sucker is over $5000!!)

Looks like they will have her most of next week while we wait...
I can't remember if you have a loaner or not? If you don't, is the truck drivable and could you get it back and drive it until the part arrives?

Frustrating as hell man and I am sorry

Technically, the truck is drivable...

BUUUTTTT......

Driving a vehicle with a known issue after the dealership has informed you of it could be interpreted as acceptance of the problem, which could impact your ability to pursue legal action later, such as a Lemon Law claim.

Many Lemon Laws are based on the number of days it is in the repair facility's possession.
Taking the vehicle back while waiting for parts can impact the number of days it is considered "in dealer possession."

For what we paid for these trucks, I'm 100% of the mind that the truck is 100% fixed, or it's 100% theirs until it's 100% fixed.

The truck is ready. I am heading out to get her ASAP.
Oh shit, that was a 180 from a couple of hours ago

Good luck!

Yeah,

It was really up to when the replacement screen arrived.

The dash was already disassembled, and the tech just had to install the new screen and module.

I need to buy a new matte screen protector.

NOTE:

The screen had a temperature fault.

I'll post the exact language of the issue shortly so others know what to look for.

Ram isn't alone with these electrical issues. In my 1 month old Raptor I just had the blank SYNC center screen. APIM failure, replaced by the dealer but the screen still wouldn't turn on so a new screen will be here Tuesday for install.

Ram has electric gremlins all over in this new gen. Ford has modules, screens, and sensors going out. GM and Toyota engines are eating themselves. Nobody is safe.
