I have to say that I would normally not think much of this, but I’ve read a few posts of owners getting headlights replaced for a buzzing noise. That said, my headlights definitely make some noise, so I’m curious if this is normal (hopefully!) or not. Both headlights make the noise, which sounds like a small fan, although they’re at slightly different pitches. They both function normally otherwise.

Edit: I apparently can’t attach a video here so had to figure out YouTube. Not looking for your subscriptions, likes, fist bumps, or whatever it is you all do on there.

Both of mine sound the same and both my RHOs sounded like that. That said, there are people that claim a sound that shouldn’t be coming from headlight ballast and I’m not sure that they mean that sound. I’ve had other vehicles with headlights that produced that sound and never became a issue 🤷🏼‍♂️

I had this issue in mine as well, the passenger side headlight only. The dealer replace it with new one, under warranty, but still have the same noise.
I don't know if this is really something I need to worry about or not.

In that case, are they replacing the entire headlight assembly, or just a lighting component?

I’ll probably roll with it unless a problem arises, but will be something I want to understand before I get to the end of my warranty period. It is a bit concerning that some have the buzzing noise, and others do not.

The entire headlight assembly.

My biggest complaint about the RHO is not having adaptive headlights, like wtf, we pay all this money and it not being offered. Sucks.

Both of mine make this humming noise. At 1,500 miles thus far, no issues to report. Some electronics will produce frequencies while operating. I assumed it is normal.

I have the same issue with mine dealer ordered a new headlight and it’s getting installed now along with whatever is wrong with my RHO draining the battery every day so tired of this I think I bought a Lemon

My RHO has 1 headlight that sounds like the video and the other one is very very loud. Sounds like a BMW intercooler pump running at shutdown. Dealer ordered a replacement headlight assembly.

Mine is making this noise too. It stops after a bit. Sounds like a fan or something. Not sure if it’s an issue or not?

Not an issue, just annoying. I don't hear mine from inside the truck, so I left it alone.

Same here. Dont really want the front end tore apart if the headlamp is still working. If it goes out then will have it replaced.

Yeah, I won’t be doing anything with mine. I’d rather not fix what’s working fine this early into ownership.

I’ll probably ask them to have a look at it someday when I’m in for a battery change, tho 😂

I'd recommend having them look at it early and getting it documented as an issue. Rational being that 'lights' are specifically called out as not being covered under warranty. In this case, the 'light' isn't the issue, but the fix is ordering a 'headlight assembly'.

Having an early documented issue is going to grease the skids so to speak when you are trying to get warranty to cover an $700 headlight assembly when the noise changed and now the light is dead.

my 2 pennies

It’s normal, not an issue. Your new assembly will do the exact same thing.
