How is your ride quality on normal roads?

i mentioned somwhere above that i dropped it to 38, but also door sticker says 40.
Sorry, I missed that, but it’s definitely 38 psi on the sticker.

Slightly off topic but: At what psi does the tire pressure alarm go off? On my 2500 the threshold was super high and it needed to be changed by a dealer/program. Once the low pressure alarm went off, they had to be over inflated to get rid of it. Wondering if the threshold is much lower for the RHO since it’s specifically designed for off roading and performance?

Do yourself a huge favor and drop your cold tire pressure down to 38 psi as recommended in your driver side door jamb. You are going to wear your tires out prematurely in the center of the tread, and you will also be surprised at how much better it rides at the proper pressures.

They set the pressures higher than called for when transporting the trucks. Mark Dodge should set the pressures to 38 cold psi when doing the PDI, but I don’t think they do that. To be fair, I don’t believe most dealers do it.

I run 34-35 cold psi in mine. You’d be surprised at the difference in your contact patch at this pressure versus your overinflated tires. 👊🏼

will definitely do that! at least to see the difference.. but have no complains as it is now

i went in to the dealer today to drive another RHO and it drives the same. so i guess its RHO thing. also im coming from BMW x5 m60. so i might have "luxury" ass. but seeing your list, im suspicious, NO WAY it drives better than Escalade or Rover, i do not believe you, unless they were 100k beaters. because i drove my friends 24 defender is much more comfortable on road imperfections/road chatter (smooth new asphalt road they are the same)

havent driven mclaren, but obviously its a sport super car sitting low so yeah it would drive worse.

I think this is your problem haha!! you can't compare truck to those cars.. it's a different level.. driving 25' 7 series from time to time and I'm always amazed.. I bet m60 has air suspension as well

Ok…extreme car guy here…driven just about everything from AMC Pacer to Porsches 911 to Acura NSX to Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham to BMW M3 to Sentra SER to Corvette Z06 to 3rd Gen Raptor & more.

The RHO rides like a pickup on 35s with performance off-road shocks.

It’s NOT designed to ride “floaty” over minor road imperfections. It’s not a Cadillac luxo-barge. If it was, it would never handle 3’ whoops at 50MPH. It would never handle jumps with tires over a foot off the road surface without bottoming upon landing. It could never be driven at highway speeds down bombed out dirt roads without breaking apart.

Here’s the thing….RHO (or any “Baja wanna-be” pickup) is a popular image machine. Are we poseurs?:
Yes…let’s be honest..few of us cross the desert in competition races.

And, we gotta live with what that brings:
A slightly uncomposed ride on “normal” roads where us poseurs we spend 99% of our time.

Sorry…but it’s true.
Well said!

i tried all of them, i dont think there is any difference.. maybe even stiffer in sport suspension. im talking about tiny bumps. the big ones are alright. i also lowered PSI from 42 to 38
Maybe you should have hung on to your Buick? It is a Baja truck, dude.

A foot then bottom out? What are you smoking over there? Lmao. Plenty of people going highway speeds offroad..

Your Escalades and Rovers probably had street tires on them and the RHO has off road tires .... world of difference in ride !!!

I’m running mine at 36 psi cold and it’s softened up the ride. I live in Denver so I thought maybe the 44psi I got when it arrived was from the altitude change from sea level to a mile above. Like a bag of chips at the store near exploding lol. If others at sea level are getting the same high psi from delivery… then idk

They're intentionally overinflated for shipment.

Lower your tire pressure. I had a similar experience when I first got my truck, it improved once I lowered it.

I just lowered mine from 44 to 36 cold. Can confirm it rides a bit nicer.

I also hate to use this as a sales pitch..but hey..

I just threw a Hellwig 7794 On the back of mine and NIGHT and DAY driving ON ROAD. If you aren't taking the thing off road every weekend this really helps with that unsettling/all over the place feeling when hitting bumps. I'm also running 40 all around & i did upgrade the axle shock as well.

What's the install like on these?

I did it in my parking spot out front at the shop, threw some cardboard on the ground I'd say roughly 30-45 minutes. I also painted the hardware black just cause I wanted it to appear OEM from behind.

Dammit. You were supposed to say "6 hours PITA"
