Are these required on these trucks? Probably not..are we going to install them and see how they are? Absolutely!

Alcon Requested some test fitting for this new kit & we will be the test dummies so you don't have to be.

You're supposed to say they don't so I have an excuse to buy some different wheels :ROFLMAO:
They are going underneath aftermarket 18 inch wheels if that helps! Haha But I can sell you 20s anyway... :D
 
I’m a fan of opposed piston brakes, as they are typically smoother & provide better pedal feedback than sliders. But, 6-piston just gives you more modulation for track use, not necessarily more stopping power. For street use, 4-piston is optimal in my experience. If a kid jumps out in front of you, modulation is unimportant. You want those suckers to bite down NOW!

The front OEM brakes are plenty huge 2-piston sliders. I required an emergency stop from 50mph a few weeks back and boy, do those 35s squirm around! The smell afterward was pretty strong…not sure if it was tires or brakes or both.

Anyway, a version of the OP’s brakes (possibly the exact same brakes) have been available for TRX. Watched a few YouTube installs/reviews. Meh. They look nice.

My vote is brakes, was a problem for TRX guys & I think it will continue into this platform as they are the same parts from a 3.6 truck and people aren't driving these things (for the most part) like a tradesman 3.6L. Saw a lot of guys on the TRX platform warp rotors like crazy, again everyone's driving habits are different.. some people only know SLAM on the brake pedal.

All of my cars have BBK's & 2 piece rotors, the 2 piece stuff outlasts stuff in any form of motorsports driving. The Alcon stuff is pricey but they filled a need for most people not wanting to change the wheels and have a big brake kit. The calipers aren't just a block of Chinese billet like other manufactures as well(Rotora, RB, etc).

This kit utilizes a 2 piece rotor so that should help with heat, plus most of us aren't buying these trucks for practicality. I will be hauling my race car so it will be nice to have a little more bite, albeit I'm sure I could have that with a pad & stainless line upgrade but given the chance to install and test something for a company I will be taking that leap!
 
I was reading that the rotors are 15" is which very large and surprisingly enough our trucks stop quicker than the street tired Tungsten and MUCH quicker than the Raptor.

For MOST people, the best someone can do is used improved pads. I have the upgraded pads on most of my cars and even my 66 Mustang Im running Porterfield RS4 pads and shoes and it makes a huge difference.

Those going through extended heat cycles and additional loads can benefit from aftermarket brake systems but most of us here, the stocks are fine or adding better pads for those who a more aggressive.
