Anyone have power running boards from Mopar that work on the RHO? I try buying 82219228AA from MOPAR and BAM wholesale but they said it won’t work due to the wiring harness being different.

I have it, that is the correct part number.

My dealer will not order/install for me either. My RHO isn't listed as compatible and they don't want to void my warranty. I tossed some cheap amazon boards on until I can get the Mopar's hopefully soon.

time to find a new dealer lol

I'm the parts manager at a CDJR dealer here in Houston. That part #, 82219228AA, doesn't show up in the catalog for the RHO because Ram for some reason doesn't think the power steps are a good idea for a truck with the capabilities of the RHO. They did the same thing with the TRX. The power step part # for the TRX (different than the part # for the 2025 DT) would not show in the catalog either when searching with a TRX VIN.
If you turn the VIN filter off in the STAR parts catalog while looking up the steps, that part # appears. Its a 2025 Ram DT compatible part #. I have that same exact part # on my personal RHO. Works great! The instructions explain how to pin the wire harness into a connector on the driver side foot well area. This step is required no mater what 2025 Ram DT you are installing them on. Lonestar, Bighorn, Laramie, doesn't mater. There will never be a "plug in play set of Mopar steps for the RHO, or any of the trucks. And as far as I know, and in my own opinion (have to say that to CMA) the correct installation of the correct part # power step for the year model vehicle they were intended will not void the warranty. The instructions even tell you to add a specific sales code to your VIN before you power up the steps so that when the modules are all reconfigured they will see the correct option code. When I run my RHO vin in the Stellates vin inquiry system it shows the Mopar power step sales code as a dealer installed option.

Hope this helps.

Yes, and if it is improperly pinned to any other place down there, your driver's door lock will not automatically lock (or unlock) and your odometer will flash.

It could then take a month on a brand new truck for Service to troubleshoot and replace every single component in the door and locking mechanism to then realize (after the customer's repeated suggestions to look into the running board install) the Mopar power running boards was installed incorrectly from the jump ;)

I can tell you the pinning of the harness to the connector is NOT FUN. They are extremely small pins, and the connector has no slack to be able to work with. I would recommend this be done by a very qualified tech that has experience de-pinning and re-pinning these type connectors. Also, the new operating software for these 2025's is a whole new animal. The tech needs to be well versed in the way to bring modules on and off line with it.

Gotcha. Ty. Did you go through this as well?

I was very involved in the install on my truck as it was our first RHO to put the steps on. I'm sure the tech was not happy as I was up his behind the whole time making sure it was done according to the instructions.

Thanks for the info. My dealership finished install today with no issues at all installing them. They also as you said were able to find them as an option and add it to my factory warranty.

Mark Dodge ordered and installed mine before I picked it up. Had to get out and in without them once, when I was testing “storage mode” and that SUCKED. They’ve worked flawlessly and are covered under warranty.

Has anyone tried installing these themselves yet? I bought the running boards for $1600, hoping I can slap them in and just pay $100 or so for the reprogramming... They provided detailed instructions with the boards, I have pinned tons of connectors, I am up for the challenge, just not sure what will happen with them hooked up and no programming...

Mine is getting done right now at the dealer. I wouldn’t even attempt it unless you really know what you are doing repinning the harness the technician said it’s a nightmare. You can have problems with the odometer flashing if not done correctly or problems with locking and unlocking your door.

So I started the install yesterday. The boards came with detailed instructions and so far it has been straight forward. I have the harness routed and boards on the truck. Today I am going to pin the connectors which looks like a walk in the park based off the instructions. My only concern is how the bcm will react without it being “programmed” which it actually just calls for a memory reset of something of the nature which I may try and do with one of my scanners. Anyway will report back. So far I’m in this project $1700 and about 3 hours of labor.

Got everything pinned and tidied up, it was extremely straight forward, plenty of room to work. Powered the truck on, my autel scanner shows U1147 additional can interior ecu detected and u113e lost comm with battery sensor A. From here I’m supposed to find a function to restore BCM calibration and then the PSSM (power side stem module) will be accessible. Then I can go into the PSSM and perform a calibration test and that should be it. So far It looks like the autel will not be able to do that. May take a trip to the dealer this week and see what they want for 10 mins of “programming”

I'm seeing ~$1900 on the mopar online store. Are there deals to be had on these? With dealers pricing the install so much, has anyone tried something like the GoRhino electric boards?

I did consider them. I think they are a great value. I added the mopar before taking delivery ($2500 installed) simply because I wanted the integration and for them to be covered under the Mopar warranty. They work flawlessly.
