I've posted in a different thread that at around 3100 miles (currently 4850) my BSM started acting up - start the truck in the morning and BSM is INOP and might start working later in the day. This got worse and as of last week BSM was INOP (lights on the mirrors on 100% of the time) 100% of the time after all drive cycles.

Got back from a week long work trip late last week and finally installed the Auto Stop/Start Eliminator that had been sitting on my work bench for a couple of weeks, and as soon as I did that, my BSM has been operating flawlessly after numerous starts and stops over these last few days. I have no clue if they're related but the only thing that has changed is the install of this item.

I'll report back if my BSM starts to fail again, but this is the most consecutive days of zero malfunction (and working as designed when vehicles enter my blind spot) that I have had in over a thousand miles and many weeks.

Is the BSM module located in the passenger kick panel and maybe my messing down there made a better connection? No clue but that is the only thing that has changed

I believe the BSM is within the cadm/adas module which is under the rear seats. I’m currently having mine replaced due to malfunctions. This is interesting that your BSM went away after installing the auto start/stop eliminator. How many miles have you put on since it went away?

I have put about 200 miles with zero malfunction - which is 200 more than I have had in over 1,500.

I know it's a long-shot but it was interesting enough I had to share

That’s definitely interesting. I’m assuming the auto start/stop eliminator moves or adds a ground? Maybe adding a ground helped a different system or these two “talk” to one another.

Keep us posted!

My BSM malfunctions disappeared for 800 miles after a dealer visit…they claimed nothing was “fixed”, as fixes were all pending a software update.

Well, after 800 miles, the BSM & AEB warnings became a constant hassle. Ultimately, it was all traced back to a bad communications connection between the front camera & adas module.

When installing the stop/start eliminator, did you tighten any other cable connections?

Odd that so many of these trucks have similar problems. Poor dealers are left in the dark. Guess that’s the price of buying a truck with all-new electronics?

Ya know, there is a ground that comes with this module and I made sure to tighten the shit out of it when I installed it too.

It's a plausible explanation (best one I have heard yet)

For me, I have only had the BSM malfunction and nothing else. I am cautiously optimistic and will report back if anything changes

Unfortunately getting back on an airplane tomorrow for the week so the truck will be sitting (with power provided from my NOCO Genius 5) for a few days

Love hearing the use of Noco, but, have we had any leave the truck for extended periods of time (without a tender) I wonder? Probably worth reviewing the battery threads again.

Yep. Just curious about normal use. Like when I leave the Raptor at the airport for 10 days, I have no worries.

There are a few who have let it sit for days with no issues. I’m not one of them lol.

Well, on a final whim before I got in the Uber this morning to head to the airport and the PACNW for the week, I disconnected the Noco Genius 5 and will let it sit in the garage all week with no external power tending it.

I'll start it up on Saturday when I get home and see what happens - I can confirm both batteries were fully charged and 'green' before I pulled the plug and I'll report back when I get home on battery power and if any 'funkiness' the truck may have after sitting all week

Doing gods work. Let us know what happens. Thinking about putting after market batteries in myself just to get ahead of any issues.

I’m having this issue now too. Happen today for first time after the dealer installed the mopar power running boards. Mine is the passenger mirror. Driver side is fine.

Anyone find the actual cause or fix?

Mine is brand new with 50 miles. I had the same issue, it’s a low voltage problem. I put mine on a battery tender while I was out of town. Came back, batty fully charged and no issues since.

I left my parked for about a month with no issues, measured the battery with a multimeter with the truck off and it's a 12.89.

its like a fricken unicorn...
I had it in storage mode, and put the key fobs in a Faraday bag. It's a level 0 so here's hoping I have no issues, but the stories on here do have me a bit nervous for road trips.

Dude you already beat all the odds, lol, you are golden. I do wonder if the level 0s have fewer issues because of not having as many features/electronics as level 1. It does seem most of us with constant problems are level 1 but not sure on this.
