Odd Coincidence: Blind Spot Monitoring / Auto StopStart Eliminator

I tried to put mine in storage mode before I flew NW.

I was able to do it successfully but when it entered storage mode there was a high pitch whine that would not stop (after 3 or 4 minutes) so I took it out of storage mode as my Uber was approaching

Hard to explain and maybe it would have stopped eventually but I didn't want to chance it as I was out the door

Update, I returned home last night after 4.5 full days away without the Noco 5 hooked up and not in storage mode.

The truck started perfectly (woo!!), BUT, the Blind Spot Monitoring immediately malfunctioned as it had been doing for the past couple thousand miles.

I immediately hooked the Noco 5 back up, went to bed, and woke up to a green light (also put it on the Aux after I pulled it off of main and the Aux went immediately to green as well).

Started up the truck and the BSM worked as designed. I am 90% convinced that a lower charge on the battery(ies) definitely affects this module and I am now thinking I may bypass the dealer and just out of pocket a new main and aux battery for further research

Cheers

Damn! Kind of sounds like new batteries might help since after charging them up you don’t have issues. The dealer load tested mine and they both passed so they are replacing the module. I have seen my battery voltage as low as 13.2 but shoots up to 14.2 a few seconds later then back and forth. But some days it stays at 14 most of the drive. I’m still considering putting better batteries in even though they “passed” since I’m seeing low voltage some days.

Maybe I’ll enable the BSM/AEM and watch the voltage when the alerts go off to see if there’s a correlation if the voltage is fluctuating down to 13.2 at the same time as alerts.

I'll be anxious to see if yours changes or not with activating this on yours. I tried DEACTIVATING mine and it wouldn't let me while it's malfunctioning.

Also there might be something to the L0 / L1 theory as well

What battery brand are guys “upgrading” to? Is the oem produced by Interstate?

Not sure it's technically an "upgrade" but the one that people have been using is the Duralast from Auto Zone. There's a thread that links both batteries somewhere here.

Also, it likely may not be my batteries but a system drain that will hopefully be fixed with a future update so it might not be an actual fix but with all of the OEM battery replacements from the factory on the early delivery trucks there might have been some bad batches installed

Still mostly just a guessing game
