So, are we doing oil changes at 500, 1000 or so for first time?

I did mine at 1k miles at the dealership. Its $65(buy a 3 pack for $200) for full synthetic and for me....its worth it...they mess up, its on them...and any warranty concerns show that I used the dealer for oil changes which helps tremendously especially after your warranty has expired.

1200, per BMW recommendation on the hottest M-version of their I6.

As long at it meets the minimum rating and is the same weight, you should have no issues. Keep your receipts(I also take the top of the filter box and store it with my receipts in my Mazda Folder)

I dropped the oil with 17 miles - left the oem filter. Changed at 4k miles. Would've done it at 3k miles - but I was still driving lol.

In the tech documentation it states it meets all the standards required by RAM. I posted it somewhere else but definitely has it in stated documentation. That was good enough for me.

I was just reading through all that. Called my dealer and they said it wouldn’t be a problem at all if I bring everything in and have them change it.
