Open Plug under bed

I had to replace a damaged piece of plastic on the corner of my bumper. When I was under the truck and looked up I saw a plug that had nothing attached to it. It is right above the bed step. Since it looked like the same plug the trailer kit had in it I gave it a shot and sure enough it fit. Anyone know what it is for? Due to the lighting it looks gray in the picture but it is black and the teal plug is now on it to keep crap out of it.

I had the same thing on mine I am pretty sure it is for the trailer cameras. I also found on with the same situation on the drivers side frame approximately under the fuel spout. I plugged them both in and left them.

Oh. I’m sorry I meant to mention that. I found the other end of the wire and didn’t end up needing the plug.
