RHO level 0 ordered 9/7/24. Status: BUILT!!!! as of 1/18/25
My F-150 had a Skycamp, Riversmith fly rod holder, and Kammock awning on top of a crappy Leer shell. It all works great for fishing and camping, but it's a lot of crap to have on top of the truck.

I'd love to see your setups if anyone is setting up your RHO for RTT, or camping topper, etc. I'm considering an RSI Smartcap Setup or a rack, I love having the truck be self contained for camping, but I'm also hesitant to drive around with all that stuff attached to the truck.

If you have a rack, do you miss having a topper with your stuff being exposed to theft or dust in the back?

This was setup on my TRX, I might go this same route again.

Is that the Prinsu roof rack with Roam boxes? Rear tire carrier connected to hitch mount?

I love RSI Smartcap options but with such a limited payload capacity on the RHO, I needed to balance necessity over desire and that's why I went with Softoppper. I'm still tweaking it but thus far appears to be waterproof but not dustproof. Working on its first big trip in middle of March. It'll be subjected to everything I can get it into way off the beaten path and still trying to sort out first loadout attempt. I learn best from real-world testing and tweak to do more of what worked and less of what didn't ;)

I'm debating a prinsu rack but not sure I want to take the hit to MPG and payload. I also found rack systems that will fit over Softopper but then I have hot metal in summer heating up the tan top and kind of defeating purpose of the tan topper. Pro and cons. For any long trips deep into backcountry the payload is ultimately going to be my biggest problem, as such, I am seriously looking into and considering ordering one of these:

We currently use and love the Gazelle tents, but struggling to sort a mounting system. I hate rooftop tents on a vehicle but on a trailer it might be more viable, though again, not what I'd prefer.

I do a fair share of camping and a touch of overlanding with my older kids. However, I haven't committed to all the installed gear as that's just not something I want to lug around everyday or deal with the hassle of mounting/unmounting all the time. I've just thrown all my crap in the bed under the tonneau cover. It's definitely not organized and I'm sure there's a better way to strike a balance.

Front runner rack on the roof, Leitner on for the rack and accessories, retrax pro for the tonneau, and rigd supply for the tire hitch.
Yeah weight definitely took it's toll so I often took it off certain things when not on trips. Especially after putting on 37s.

Do you have a link to roof rack? What's it rated at for dynamic load? With those kinds of trips, weight and 37s, what kind of life did you get on suspension components? I was going through the system and it looks like it'll be a financial gut punch when it comes time to replace those components.

Front runner has decent accessories, i was planning on running a few Baja designs lp6 across the rack. But may go with just the light mount vs the full real so i don't block the moon roof view. I don't recall the load number off the top of my head. I typically just put light items such as bedding and tent items up there.

40k miles with that setup and no issues. Unfortunately it was stolen so i didn't get to enjoy it to the wheels fell off. That's an entirely different story haha. The current thief is still out there enjoying my build.

I have a Hiker Trailer "Extreme Off-Road" edition. I might mount the iKamper on top of it and make it a two-story palace. The Hiker Trailer is simple, but very beefy for off-roading. It also costs a fraction of a lot of the off-road options, and is custom built to specs. I was going to sell it and just keep the Skycamp since, we really like it, but going back and forth on having it mounted on the truck. https://hikertrailers.com/
