Bone stock? I'd clear the code, pull the negative battery terminal and wait a bit and see if it resets.

Just an update for anyone interested. Took the truck to the dealership for diagnosis, they ran some code update. They said it was good to go, drove it and not even 3 miles down the road the CEL came back on. Turned around and took it right back. They got to it yesterday morning and found the drivers side cat is faulty. New cat is on BO for a couple weeks. Not impressed.

I don't think there's any correlation, but do you happen to know what gas octane you had put in it?

We only have 91 available here. But no less than 91, and once 93. It's only gone through like 3 tanks of fuel. The light came on at 500 miles-ish, so technically it was only on it's 2nd tank of fuel.

Thanks for the fuel info, just figured I'd ask :)

For the youtube video, I wish they would call out which engine, since SO vs HO are very different engines. If it's rental / fleet, i'd assume it's the SO which has a much higher compression ratio and smaller turbos

SO Engine
Compression ratio: 10.4:1
Boost pressure: 22 psi
Max RPM: 5800

HO Engine
Compression ratio: 9.5:1
Boost pressure: 26 psi
Max RPM: 6100

Then there's the HO variants, 510 (Grand Wagoneer), and 540 RHO and Tungsten

One of my favorite images of the differences between SO and HO, but for the Wagoneer, I can't find one that outines if the HO 510 in GW is just retuned for the HO in the RHO / Tungsten

Questions...
1. Misfires are resolved by a SW update??? That's news to me, I hadn't heard that announcement???
2. I agree with him on the cats, the engine is generating too much energy/heat into the cats and melting them, it will be a recurring problem IMO until they have an actual fix. I can't imagine Stellantis will de-tune, instead they might relocate the cats further out from the turbos. Thoughts?
3. I thought I read somewhere that the thermostat issues were resolved, but maybe I dreamed that? Does anyone know the update here?

Seems I’ve read several RHO cats have melted around the 500 mile mark.

I’ve got 1800 miles on my original cats. Am I lucky? Or, is something else going on? Or, is a CEL in my future?

1st 1200 miles was lots of short trips over 2+ months, for break-in purposes. I wonder if that has made a difference in how the cat internal materials have bedded?

That's a good brand I looked at those then went with an Autel both do about them same.
