New owner, so it won’t surprise me if this is all user error, but I feel like the 360 cameras are basically useless for my needs with what I’ve seen so far.

My truck seems to jump in and out of cameras showing on the display and I haven’t really been able to figure out what triggers them to be on or off. I would have expected they’d turn on when going at a slow speed in forward or reverse, for benefit of parking in or backing out of a garage, for example.

The 360 cam view on my setup is less than 1/4 of the total display, so it’s pretty small in that view. On top of that, there’s a gray rectangle around the truck which limits view of things in closest proximity. Beyond the gray box is a distorted view of area objects. Overall experience is pretty lackluster.

Further surprising me is the parking sensor alarm distance is much further than it was in my 2020 Laramie. So, I am quite a ways from nearby objects when it goes red and to full alarm tone. That kind of stinks because I’m being warned I’m about to hit something, get out of the truck and I’m still a few feet away.

Any way of adjusting these settings? I fumbled around with it yesterday but didn’t see anything immediately obvious. Again, I want to hope its user error on my part, but so far the 360 experience is pretty lackluster, IMO.

Go to the vehicle settings on the Uconnect screen and you will see options for adjusting the distance at which sensors trigger and such. Honestly, I just turn most of mine off.

If you haven't yet, take like 15-20 minutes and play around with all the different options and settings...I have had my truck for 3 months and still figuring things out and learning features.

I’ll have to jump back in there again. I swear I was in menus for an hour last night trying to understand everything. I must have overlooked where I can see distances and when to turn on what cameras.

It seems like this should be a pretty useful tool, but the way mine functions right now is missing the mark.

Not sure about the camera part but I know I was able to change how close or how far I am from an object before shit beeps at me. My front camera will turn on when I get close to something...but I am not sure if the parksense distance will alter when the camera will turn on (I haven't played around with that enough).

I will admit though, the camera and parksense in my bmw was night and day better. The picture quality was way better, and when the cameras turned on and off were perfect. The overhead 3d view was incredibly clear and made it very easy to see what was around me. This setup is not nearly as good but works well enough if you mainly back into spaces.

The same issue here. I’d like the front camera to activate automatically when approaching an object while parking forward. I’ll check the settings to see if this can be adjusted.

I’m either blind or need a software update. I see parksense options to turn off or on, but no way to change distance for alarm trigger.

If it helps you can add ur cameras as a short cut on the top of the screen, I have them there on mine and hit the button everytime I think I’m gonna be close. It also keeps them up longer I believe

Thanks, I did find that.

Is this what your guys’ cameras look like? I’m blown away that the 360 cam is a tiny sliver of the overall display. Here’s a picture of what it looks like from the drivers seat in mine.

It's never crossed my mind that that is too small to see what I'm doing. I must just have awesome eyes.

You can set the camera to come on based on which parksense sensor is triggered. I think it gives you the overhead view and whatever camera is closest to the sensor trigger front or back. I don’t think it’ll trigger the sides, at least I haven’t triggered one of those yet.

The overhead view would certainly be more useful if it took the whole screen.

No i doubt you are missing it. I was doing it from memory, so it is very possible I am confusing it with something else. I will check today.

Any chance you can tell me how you got to that setting? That sounds like what I’m looking for. Still don’t see any way to set a specific camera to trigger off of a specific sensor or change the distance the sensors trigger.

How do you set up the shortcut?
There is a way to edit the top of the screen id have to check tmrw in my car, but I think you go to apps and I just dragged it to the top? It’s been a while since I did it
