Has anyone figured out how to leave the sports drive mode saved? I'm tried of every time I start my truck up, I have to set it up again!

It will always go to auto mode every time you start the truck. What I did was edit my auto mode to what I like it to be and so far auto mode stays at what I set it to be.
Can’t have Baja suspension in Auto mode, so no go for me.

Not a problem. Every time I start the truck, I turn off the auto start/stop & push the right mode button once…bingo, I’m in Custom & I can have Sport transmission with Baja suspension!

Wish I knew how much torque the transfer case is sending forward in Custom drive mode with Sport trans & Baja suspension. Guessing the default 40%. Sport drive mode reduces that to 30% & Baja drive mode to 25%. Too bad the transfer case is not customizable separate from the drive modes. I hate torque steer!

I put a sport mode short cut on my main screen so it’s faster to click.

Do different driving modes have different hp or power or is it just more aggressive shifts and stiffer suspension?

I haven’t heard about any changes in engine output in different “modes”.

The shift points change, which can result in a more responsive engine feel.

I keep my tranny in ‘Sport” which keeps engine RPMs at or above 2400RPM, whenever possible. It delays the 1st to 2nd gear shift that just sounds horrible in regular “Auto” mode…the SST clearly doesn’t like to be bogged…it likes RPMs.

FYI: 90% of peak torque happens at 2400RPM, which is why Sport mode tries to keep the engine at or above that RPM.

So sport mode doesn’t make a difference if you’re in manual mode besides stiffer suspension? Or does it change throttle response?

Not 100% sure about the throttle response. It feels more responsive, but I believe that is primarily due to the engine spending more time in its peak torque RPM zone. I could be wrong.

You keep your auto tranny in manual mode? More work than I want & I luv clutch based manual transmissions. Flipping paddles feels like cheating to me & kinda unnecessary with how good the ZF tranny is at doing its job.

No not normal driving, just playing with it and trying to figure out the modes.. what’s rock mode for steering? Is that the lightest or heaviest? Can’t tell much difference between street and rock steering.
