There is some information about mileage and accelerations in manual and all over online on different processes to follow on vehicle break in procedures. I want to provide another thing to think about (based on my background as a former exhaust after treatment engineer). During the first 10 hours in any new vehicle, the catalytic converter support mat (Muffler E glass Heatshield Insulation) is going through a process called burning out the binder. During this process you get some small smell/odor out the tailpipe but also during binder burnout its not a bad idea to keep your exhaust back pressures lower (IE no WOT pulls, chill acceleration). Also driving like a granny is not a good idea...Depending on how much heat you get into the Cats (600-950C) it will speed up this process (6 hours - 2ish hours). I only mention this as some on this page will be getting new catalyst replaced...when they are brand new and "green" these support mats have not been through binder burnout process.

I hope this helps: join us for More fun tips from Ctech-Review (y)

Good stuff, and you helped me knock out the learn something new everyday item off my checklist. 😘

I wish I could share more about the aftertreatment design for the GMET-6...I worked on this back in 2018-20. Was a pretty solid catalyst design. I am hoping this video this evening is helpful for the Ram community...I have already been talking to stellantis Engineers about this over the weekend.

Curious your thoughts if you get an opportunity on the latest video...

The MPG one was good and I liked your perspectives about winter fuel. Having never lived in a winter fuel area I hadn't a clue it was different or that it would impact mpg in any meaningful way. :ROFLMAO: I only see snow in pictures and on VERY meticulously planned winter trips that follow weather patterns and require a moment's notice to execute.

The dealership follow up was fine, not fun or dynamic but had lots of information, you asked good questions and those guys clearly much more enjoyed being on camera than the original tech ;)

I am curious what was causing the short in the original wiring harness. Also, maybe some editing to make the video more interesting with some cut ins of your snow driving for anecdotal enjoyment.

Truly my 2 cents, and hope it helps.

Thats extremely helpful...I get to data driven and forget about the entertainment side of the videos sometimes. Its a balance of how much time to make a video and how much to focus on the direct information and then fun stuff. I do have a small snow driving video coming this week. I also did something different that I have never done before on a video posting tomorrow night...I hope this is received well because its almost like a podcast style Cars and coffee experience. Curious how this experiment goes tomorrow !

100% get that, I actually had your videos playing while I dealt with a rubiks cube situation. Replacing a rear door lock actuator that had child safety engaged. Still haven't found a way to open the door...FML.

Look forward to what you come up with in future. Remember that B-roll is your friend ;)

Good stuff, good luck with that! Great suggestions, need to do that!
