I hope my dealer doesn’t leave me hanging.

After a thorough wash and cleaning I’ve found so many issues. Hitch was used and damaged, tear in the leather door panel, overspray on the fender flare, damaged bumper, dirt in the paint. Ugh.

Damn I didn’t notice anything like that on my truck but my truck isn’t even running anymore so I’m not sure what’s worst. Died while driving on highway same day I bought it at 50 miles and got towed back to dealer

The one I would be most pissed about is interior if it was my truck. I live in rural ND so keeping the outside pristine is impossible but if I lived in a 100% paved are, then ya the exterior would piss me off also

I hope you get everything squared away! I am still fighting with Ram over having rust pits throughout my bed (bought a truck in 2023 sight unseen from an out of state dealer and had it shipped to Texas. Dealer just told me to work with my local dealer and Ram). Ram is super difficult to work with.

good lord, my raptor with 80k miles is in better condition, no lie. not a single defect in the paint or interior flaw. WTF lol The bumpers look like a touch up pen without a doubt. embarrassing. what dealer? I'm having my truck shipped from MD and worried if it shows up to Montana like this! kind of out of luck.

oof that is unacceptable who was the dealer?

That is horrible and I hope that was not from Mark Dodge.

That is concerning for all of us who have trucks on order from them. I hope they make it right. Let us know the outcome.

Unfortunately in his another post yesterday it was bought from MD. Hope I am wrong.
It isn’t from Mark Dodge. It’s a local rural dealer. I’m heading back there shortly. The “said” everything will be replaced. I’ll keep y’all updated after I visit them.

I would have never even bought it looking like that.
It was night time when we finished up and the lighting was less than stellar. Easy to miss all of it and I’m super anal retentive, just ask my wife 😂

You & I sound like similar automotive enthusiasts.

Yes, I found 6 defects after delivery…one possibly from the tech who did the PDI or when the running boards were installed (damaged electrical connection boot).

The two paint defects I’m going to live with (both under clear, so definitely factory blems)…don’t want my truck sitting in a body shop environment unless I crash it. Knock on wood that never happens.

I’ve already fixed the rusting frame where the factory transport dolly took off the e-coat. Look behind your front sway bar mounts. Guessing some/most new owners will find rust.

The scratched window glass and cracked headlight…well, dealer service advisor has offered to replace the headlight, but the service director somehow “cleaned off” the impact mark (where the headlight was dropped or bumped before install at the factory) & now they are hoping I just live with it. They have offered to “take care” of the glass, but I’ve heard nothing for 2+weeks. I’m sure they are busy.

Keep us informed on your fixes.

Sorry man, that is totally unacceptable. Blows me away that stuff like that is missed and not addressed before a customer takes delivery.

Ok, so here is where we stand.

They seemed really cool about my nit pickiness, said all the damaged parts will be replaced. But at the same time she said(the service manager) that she will let me know next steps after she speaks with Stelantis.

And then one of the managers came out to complement me on the truck and how he really likes it more than the TRX. Then he mentioned my 66 Mustang as my Ford rebate(much shorter vin back then and how he needs to reach out to them as it wasn’t accepted) and mentioned the survey. I told him flat out, you take care of my issues and you don’t have to worry about the survey. Otherwise, it will be no bueno.

Chris

I’ll update when I have new info. I really appreciate all the support from fellow brethren’s. :)

Yeah the three paint defects I have(dirt in the paint, scratch under clear and chip) I’ll ignore two but have the scratch in the black fixed.

I loathe body shops more than anything. It’s SO hard to find a good one. I found two in Illinois (both built Hot Rod of the year kinda stuff). But nothing here id ever recommend in the Houston area.

Curious, how many miles were on the truck when you bought it? This wasn't an ordered truck, it was on the lot, correct?

No we ordered it. There were 30 miles on the truck. They initially said we couldn’t test drive it until we got numbers in order. WTF?

We can pay cash. Then they were like, ok. 😂
