it’s kind of known that Ram trucks don’t hold good values. What does everyone think about the value holding up on the RHO?? I’m thinking of buying one I like this truck a lot. But a Ford Raptor might hold value better? Any thoughts???

Thankfully most of us got over $10k off so that eats up a 2-3 years of depreciation alone. Say you buy a 85k window sticker RHO for 75k, drive it three years and sell it for 70k. Only costed you $5k to drive a brand new truck for 3 years. Say you buy a 25 raptor at MSRP for 85k, drive it the same 3 years, it will be worth 70k as well but you paid the full 85k so cost you $15k to drive for 2 years... just how i look at it.

In high end trucks like the raptors, trx and rho depreciation is far less than regular models. Lets take TRX depreciation for example since its the only similar ram truck to guess what the RHO will depreciate like and had the same MSRP as RHO starting out. 2022 TRX fully loaded with window sticker of 90k are selling in the low 70s right now. The same 2022 Fully loaded 37 raptor is selling for 70k and had a similar msrp. so i would say depreciation on these rigs is similar. If you got a $10k discount on the ram there is no competition from a depreciation standpoint.

My guess is we will lose more than 15k vs. sticker over three years - probably quite a bit more. If you only put 5k a year on it, possibly - but do agree with last poster's comments that getting 10k off out of the gates should moderate the hit down the road. I drive about 15k a year - and my expectations are that mine is worth about 55k after three years - maybe better but maybe worse. Time will tell.

I think inflation from 2020 - 2023 +/- helped resale a ton on used vehicles. The prices on new ones were going up so fast the used market was in much higher demand.

My view? I don’t buy to worry about the loss, I buy for enjoyment. Whatever I get when I sell it, so be it. If it’s not enough I’ll just keep it longer :)

I think resale values will be fine, unless Ram decides to scrap the Hurricane - that would definitely hurt.

As others have pointed out, higher-end offroad trucks tend to hold value better than other vehicles. Keep in mind that MOST RHO buyers are not getting $10k off, or anywhere near that... many dealers I talked to would not budge from MSRP, and their RHOs are selling.

For some context: I paid MSRP of $87k for my Level 2 TRX in early 2021 when it was hot, then sold it a month ago for $69k... so $19k of depreciation in a little over 3.5 years. That's not bad.

Previously, I paid $51k for my 2013 Gen 1 Raptor and sold it in 2017 for $48k.

Value (Trade-in or resale) has little meaning to me.

I keep my vehicles for 10 to 14 years.

By the time I get something new, it's worth very little.

Ride it hard and put it away wet 😂🤣😂

If you were able to negotiate a good deal then you probably will be okay. It also depends on price increases over the next few years and just the overall market when you decide to sell, unfortunately none of us have a crystal ball. Overall I think there is a good used market for high trim off road/performance trucks as typically there is less to choose from in the market. Just like there are a ton more standard f150’s out there than raptors. I know they took out a lot of features on the 2025 raptors and raised the msrp. Raptors will see a refresh in the next 1-2 years so its possible buying a gen3 will lose a ton of value once the gen4 comes out, you ultimately have to buy what you like and negotiate the best deal you can

This is my mantra as well. You know you're losing money, the only question is how much!!
