A proper tune and this thing is in the 11s in the 1/4 tune only! I can’t wait! lolImagine a proper tune and not just a piggyback like the JB4! VERY impressive!!!![]()
Agree. Not sure how much the stock rotating assembly can handle but once a tuner unlocks and does a proper dyno tune this thing should run pretty well for just a 3.0L.Imagine a proper tune and not just a piggyback like the JB4! VERY impressive!!!![]()
I was told stock rotating assembly is easily capable of 800 range if not higher...all forged. Limit is turbos and fueling.Agree. Not sure how much the stock rotating assembly can handle but once a tuner unlocks and does a proper dyno tune this thing should run pretty well for just a 3.0L.
That's good as these components can be upgraded more easily then pulling motor.I was told stock rotating assembly is easily capable of 800 range if not higher...all forged. Limit is turbos and fueling.
My 24 R ran a best time of exactly that too lol having to leave off idle kills the launchJust incredible...my Raptor R best time ever was 3.96 0-60 on draggy...This RHO with proper tuning will be an animal!
100% My 24R best was a 3.96, I tried launching 50 different ways and could never do better. For perspective my 21 Raptor 37 package on 87 octane and 300lbs of payload ran a 5.6 in same location. I am expecting my RHO do a 4.6 range. My 24 R ran a best time of exactly that too lol having to leave off idle kills the launch
What company is reliable for tuning would you say? Besides the first one that comes out with it lolImagine a proper tune and not just a piggyback like the JB4! VERY impressive!!!![]()
Someone that specializes in Dodge/Ram vehicles only, and unlocks the PCMWhat company is reliable for tuning would you say? Besides the first one that comes out with it lol
To be honest I'm not sure a company that only deals with dodge/ram is best equipped for this. Full disclosure I have a b58 powered car, but this engine wildly resembles the BMW b58/s58. Between direct injection, variable valve timing, chain driven DOHC, water to air intercooler, cam driven hp fuel pumps, etc.; tuners that have been working on dodge/ram only for years are going to have to do a lot of trial/error and learning. They haven't seen anything like this. I hope a company that specializes in BMW, like MHD, can get into this market. To me, this is why burger tuning was able to get a jb4 up and running for this so quickly, with what seems like good results. There are so many nuances to these engines that I don't think a dodge/ram specialty company will be able to take advantage of right away.Someone that specializes in Dodge/Ram vehicles only, and unlocks the PCM
100% agree with this. I would take a B58 tuner over a hellcat tuner any day for this motor. To be honest I'm not sure a company that only deals with dodge/ram is best equipped for this. I respectfully disagree 100%. It doesn't mean they can't build a tune for this motor but they aren't really 'tuning' the PCM. They are intercepting boost, throttle position (demanded torque), MAF, manifold pressure, temps, or whatever and then manipulate the signal to fool the PCM thinking it hasn't met its limits. Not a hard way of tuning and this mythology of tuning has been around for years especially with diesels. Its cheap. Its easy. It can accommodate many platforms specifically turbo boosted motors. It doesn't involve unlocking the PCM.To be honest I'm not sure a company that only deals with dodge/ram is best equipped for this. I didn't mean JB4 was the answer, to be honest, I wouldn't put one on this truck and also wouldn't put it on my BMW. It basically just lies to the ecu to get it to make more power, not a fan of that.I respectfully disagree 100%. I've spent some time in the tuning space, took HP tuners class and tuned a few Ram trucks. Rubbed elbows with some great reputable tuners. Spent hundreds of hours tuning my own truck to increase drivability (closed loop) after my guy did the power/dyno tune (open loop). Does this make me an expert? Absolutely f'in not. I know my limits. It takes not just the know how but experience with a specific brand to know what works and what doesn't. Change one variable, or part like exhaust or intake, and the outcome changes. Tuners spend hundreds of hours to create packages (stage 1, stage 2). However, one of the take aways I've learned is every PCM (Ram, Ford, GM, etc) has very different structure even though basic engine chemistry is the same (boost, AFR, cam positioning, timing, etc). A good tuner must know both what a motor likes and how to make it happen (i.e. programming of PCM). Since every manufacturers PCM is different there are nuances specify to each brand. For example, Ram uses something called neural net. This is pretty much AI for the PCM. It learns driving habits, environmental changes, etc and returns different results specific to these inputs. Gone are the days of simply modify a few tables which by the way can be dozens specific to each brand and even type of vehicle (4wd, sport, snow, etc). It gets crazy. I ended up disabling neural net as it was too complex to tune and didn't have a wideband O2 integrated into the PCM unlike the hellcat motors. Not sure if the I6 has wideband O2 but guessing it does. Every vehicle has narrowband for short trim tables when running in closed loop.
So - although I think JB4 can build a tune and get results the 'best' results would be achieved by someone who knows the motor and software, and has years of experience tuning that specific brand.
Just my 2 cents...and that might be all its worth.![]()

In regards to the ecu, true, a ram specialist would have more knowledge with the software side, they may be able to unlock it faster as well as find more tables quicker, but that is where it ends. A company that has been doing pushrod v8's with port injection for years has absolutely 0 experience with a motor like this. The "neural net", is just another name for the computer learning. I know BMW has the same thing, short-term fuel trims convert to long-term over time, repetitive timing corrections turn into timing delta for knock adaptation, etc.; it's all similar just different verbiage. All I'm saying is a ram speciality shop doesn't have experience with this motor, the amount of new sensors and changes that can be made in a tune are wildly different. A BMW shop would have a better idea of what valve timing, ignition timing, and afr's would work, as opposed to a shop that's been dealing with pushrods and port. Direct injection can be run substantially leaner than port, but a ram specialist may have no clue about that. The basic engine "chemistry" for this motor is not the same at all.
it's tough to argue those results.... those g80's are wildly fast. Hopefully someone can figure out flex fuel for these hurricane's too, I have a 340xi with a pure 800, around 500 on 93 but over 600 on a 45% ethanol mix. The gains with ethanol are unreal.View attachment 4071
I used to be against putting JB4 on too, but my g80 runs 9s with just downpipe and JB4 lol it’s crazy. Definitely will throw one on the rho until hp tuners figures out the pcm
Love the b58 too! Those are monster numbers on E. I feel the same way, come spring femto unlock and full send is coming lolit's tough to argue those results.... those g80's are wildly fast. JB4 seems to have a good track record and good results, I just don't like the piggyback style of tuning. Who knows, maybe I'll get too jealous of others and cave.
just stopped by to say gorgeous beamer!View attachment 4071
