The last four times I've filled the tank, this is happened:

FULL TANK: 392
FULL TANK: 392
FULL TANK: 383
FULL TANK: 413 (Yesterday)

It's like RAM programmed old engine displacements into the fuel gauge...

I think I overfilled it yesterday morning. It went from 413 to 421 as I was driving around town, and then it didn't move at all until this morning after I dropped the minions off at school. It dropped to 324.

Mine always stays around 450-470 at full. Fill up at about 410-420 miles with estimate still showing around 60. Always stay at 450-470 until after about 50 miles and starts dropping estimate quick.

Pffftttttttt mine says 300 almost every time

Really!?

392 to 413 is the max I get since picking up the truck...

I mean they put the wrong air filter in one, would the wrong gas tank surprise anyone?

Isn't that mileage estimate based on recent driving habits/mileage? I don't even have mine yet - but by other two vehicles can actually have the range go up if i'm cruising down some country road at 55 or 60 mph stead - and if I'm towing, it's low and gets lower. So, maybe you were getting relatively good mileage prior to the latest fillup??

I think I'm a little higher because my last tank got 14.7mpg hand calculated. Ever since I decided not to daily this truck by being stuck in crazy traffic I finally cracked 14mpg.

You are spot on.

How many gallons do you add to a fill-up?

The most I've added (<30 miles to digital empty) was 27 gallons.

(I will keep hyper-accurate records for the next few fill-ups to track this.)

My last fill up 418 miles / 28.381 gallons. This next one going to be a lot worse took my son out last last couple days and did 2 launch control runs one day and 3 the other. Since I'm at 2k + miles finally decided to abuse it a little to make sure keeps running problems free or send for warranty repairs.

Funny you posted this. I did notice the other day it seems like mileage starts high then really drops off dramatically. haven't logged or watched close enough to measure..... but same driving habits. To and from service dept/dealer. :cautious:

Okay, so the mystery deepens..

2700 miles (picture is cut-off) 383 miles to empty.

Drove 15 miles (2715 miles) still 383 miles to empty.

Drove 9 miles (2726) 277 miles to empty.

377* to empty. Yeah mine does same takes 50-70 miles till starts dropping. What's your average mpg ? Surprised at your full tank number. I will try to get a picture of mine when fill up but I think mine was like 463 on last fill up.

Mine has never gone past 421 when full.

Think a trip to the dealership is in the near future.

resetting the gas milage (not the trip milage) - will also "mess" with the DTE projection

So just did my fill up a little early and here what I got 299.8 miles / 22.032 gallons 13.6 mpg computer was showing 13.2. full tank showing 448 miles estimate. So I was correct with about 470 estimate during previous fill ups because this one involved 2 days of launch control. One day 2 runs and another 3 runs so I'm sure that killed my estimates. Previous two fills ups 14.5 14.7 mpg.

Yep, I get the same thing. Sometimes I'll drive 20 miles after filling up, and find out that my range has actually INCREASED, even thought I've driven more. LOL. My 2020 Rebel did the exact same thing, just not as dramatically. I think it's pretty normal for Ram trucks.

EXACTLY...

Went from 383 to 388 for a while then back to 383.

Then, the next day, it dropped by 90 miles (after driving 60-70 miles).

The RHO gas gauge has multiple personality disorder.....

Yep! It sure does. Sometimes I think it just takes the instantaneous mpg calculation and multiplies it by the remaining gallons of fuel to come up with the range. So it can change a lot over the duration of your trip.
