Can you guys help me generate a list of things I need to check for when the truck is delivered by the shipper? So not so much assembly flaws, but shipper responsibility items.

What are the common areas that may be damaged in transit?

I know myself and if I don't have a list I'll just be too excited and have a stupid grin and be like "yep, looks like a truck. thank you!"

All fuses pushed in, batteries, all edges and doors for fitment, paint defects, tailgate alignment and functionality, both key fobs and key card, all parking sensors, all cameras, 3 amber hood lights, blinkers, all lights. tailgate button on left rear of tailgate functionality, quick peak of the undercarriage, shocks and engine compartment. And any interior issues, leather, bubbling. And check infotainment screen. Good luck.

Some good info here -

I would add check for fender flare scratches (looks like someone scraped the protective film off of mine with a butter knife), check the climate control systems for full functionality (mine is screwed up and I have to schedule a service appointment), and DO listen and get under your rig to tighten all fasteners that you can get a wrench on! I found loose nuts and bolts from front to rear - some a little loose, some a lot. I was surprised to say the least.

These are all thing I'd have to take up with Ram. I'm specifically talking about what can commonly go wrong in transit, shipper responsibility.

I'm thinking obviously thorough check for paint or body damage, wheels, glass. Just not sure if there are "hot spots" I need to focus on.

Look at everything! This truck has/had more factory & handling defects than all 30+ new cars combined that I’ve purchased over the last 30+ years.

Points of interest:

Check all glass…I had scratches inside my left rear window, like a tool was placed up against it and rubbed back & forth a bit. Initially looked like glue, but didn’t clean off with solvent.

Check body…I had an under-paint dent under the left rocker panel. This appears to be from when access holes were punched at the factory or when the sealer grommet was installed, as the rubber/plastic grommet was right at the center of the dent. Feel for the dent, don’t just look, as tough to see with the black lower body paint.

Check paint…I’ve got a small paint run at the back edge of a door, an under-clear scuff of the black lower body paint on the rocker, and fine scratches on the center of the hood (appears something bumped across it at some point…maybe in transit? Sad they had to remove the paint protection film before transit to the dealer, as mine sat somewhere for a while). Also, if you suspect your truck sat someplace for a while, check for acid rain damage.

Check frame…you will likely have missing e-coat & possible surface rust behind the front sway bar mounts…this is caused by the dolly the truck rides on in the factory before the wheels/tires get installed. I believe this used to be touched up at the factory, as none of the TRXs I’ve seen have this issue.

Check headlamp lenses…especially on the sides. I had a small crack…initially looked like some glue, but appears the headlight was possibly dropped prior to install. The dealer may fuss, as the headlights are freaking $$$$.

Check lenticular over main instrument cluster…mine looked like someone poked it with a sharp instrument in 2 places. It initially looked like dust, but it was not dust.

Check hood alignment.

Carefully inspect the interior leather surfaces, especially where perforated.

Remember…these trucks are built on a fast moving line. If a worker damages a component or something gets messed up, the truck keeps moving forward. The thinking, I’m sure, is that it will be caught/fixed in QI. Uh huh. Pretty sure SHAP QI is overwhelmed.
