just drove from Austin to Colorado and back for a road trip with my wife and two dogs. I now have 3733 miles on her after owning it for less then 3 weeks. And a couple of problems came up.

1. the gas cap fell off a couple of times during the road trip as I refuel. It's clipped on with 5 clips and It's not a big deal, I added some glue on the clips and should take care of that problem.
2. While in Ouray I started the truck up and started driving, check engine light came on and truck drove like there was engine problems. truck display told me to stop and restart the engine which I did and after that the problem went away. It was at night and about 20' out. I don't know what was the problem and can't replicate it. What do you guys think the problem could've been?

The truck told you to restart it? That's weird.

Well, that's weird.

The dreaded check engine light…oh no!

Keep us in the loop.

Honestly I'm not too worried about it. After the engine warmed up the problem went away. I was in 20degree weather and 9000ft elevation and engine not warmed up. I'm guessing that had something to do with it.

after that I was able to drive 1000 miles home with no issues.

gosh, i cannot wait to get my RHO in Montana and do some serious testing! Thanks for the update!

Where you towing? Did you see the coolant temps? I've seen some of these pickups tell you to stop truck and wait some amount of time and restart when temps get too high, or engine has some other issue code flying across. In any event, might be worth taking it so they can pull code history and just tell you straight what happened.

1000 miles after the issue gives me hope you won’t have melted cats anytime soon. But, 20 degree weather & 9000’ elevation? That should not have triggered anything unless the R&D on this truck was rushed.

I’ve been told by an insider, these things were “pushed out”. I’m just glad there have been some leadership changes. In the meantime, we (current owners) have to suffer with the prior leadership directives.

Was not towing. It happened when the engine was cold and just started driving. Problem disappeared after it warmed up.

Fingers crossed that no other problem comes up.
