Sources Reveal the Internal Battle over the HEMI® V8’s Future at Stellantis...

No wonder Tavares peaced out early...

Just waiting for the small displacement v8 with twins, that’d be the most interesting setup for me. If the next “TRX” comes with that kind of a setup I’d be first in line to trade in the RHO😂

Yep. Agree. Twin turbo v8 will be out in 3 years or so. Just my guess! No way will they give up the v8. All this ‘last call’ crap and end of v8 was just a ploy to generate sales, and it worked.

I had a 4.4L V8 TT in my last vehicle (X5). The Hurricane HO feels almost identical from a power perspective, RHO being a bit slower as it weighs 1000+lbs more.

Sound? Well, I’m not a fan of the RHO sound. The BMW was kinda quiet. Turbos tend to muffle exhaust sound. AMG has figured out how to make a V8 TT sound like thunder, but guessing Stellantis won’t get that as right.

bmw builds nice stuff. Was on fence between x5 comp and hellcat Durango as I already had a trackhawk and sold because poor quality. You basically were buying a hellcat engine. Didn’t learn and bought Durango instead and deeply regret it. Durango quality is worse. Issues with ac which now dealer says is working but clearly makes noise and still leaks Freon in cab. Waiting for it to leak completely out again to get it fixed. Carpets not aligning exposing wire and moving. Stuff falling apart. Squeaks. Just piss poor quality especially compared to bmw at similar price point. Love the rawness of motor but damn. If they can put the hellcat (or next gen hemi) in next gen Durango with higher quality components similar to ram it would make for a nice car/suv. At least RHO fits the bill on performance, fit and finish at competitive price point (I think haha).
