I live in CA and ordered from Mark Dodge. Planning on having it shipped to me. Still have to pay sales tax to the state the vehicle is registered to.

No. My understanding is that it is compliant in all 50 states so no smog test required. Dealer should take care of all DMV paperwork. Once it arrives, just enjoy it.

When I was talking to Anthony at Mark Dodge he said it wasn't available to order yet. I was tempted, but without a battery pack for it to draw from, it reduced the usefulness for me.

Yes, you’ll need to get a SMOG and a vin inspection at the DMV (or a third party) to finalize registration in California.
