I hooked up a trailer for the first time last night and the truck automatically started the “trailer light check” sequence. It is a really nice option that comes with the trailer tow package. It systemically goes through all the turn signals and brake lights, etc to ensure they are all working properly. However, since the initial trailer hook up I can’t get it to function again. I have unhooked and replugged the trailer wiring plug several times trying to get the feature to work again. I read the manual where it describes the feature and it does say what conditions have to be met in order for it to initiate, but I’ve done all that and it’s still not working. There’s got to be something simple that I’m missing. And yes, I have the “auto trailer light check” feature option activated in the trailer section of the unconnect. Any help from someone who uses this feature would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Try hard resetting the U connect system. Hole the power button down for like 10 records until the RAM logo appears

Try forgetting the trailer in uconnect also

I will have my trailer on again later this week. I’ll let you guys know if that helps. Thanks so much for the feedback!

It will occur with the truck running when you plug in the trailer. If the truck is off when you hook everything up, and then start it, nothing will occur.
