Transfer case fluid is it topped off?

I wonder if this can be checked during PDI at the dealerships when new orders come in. @AnthonyRI is this something your dealership can check upon receiving the new truck shipments?
Yea I second this, it must be checked during PDI, this is insane. Please advise @AnthonyRI

Might as well send us the parts and we will assemble the truck ourselves
I tried do that with MTB or PC, but result is 2x the price compared to assembled..

I find it interesting the owners manual that comes with every RHO is the owners manual for every 2025 Ram. It does have some special references for RHO, but when you research fluids, it only lists non-RHO transfer case part#s. This could cause issues if the BG 48-13 (RHO unit) uses different fluid from the BG 48-11 (the only unit listed with 4WD Auto in the manual)

Yes, it can be checked at PDI and should be checked at PDI. I used to work for a dealership in a former life and that is on the PDI list. Check ALL fluid levels.

Yes our team is aware that there were issues with this in the past, have not seen challenges recently as any sort of pattern – but def on our radar

So, what is the correct transfer case fluid for RHO, since the RHO transfer case part# is not listed in the owner’s manual under Chassis Fluids & Lubricants?

FYI: RHO uses the 48-13, I believe. Only 48-11 & 48-12 fluids listed.

Is it the same transfer case as the TRX? I know the trans is different right?

Believe transfer case is the same…saved some R&D $$ to just use the same one for RHO. Trans is different…HP75 in RHO…HP95 in TRX.

here is page from the manual, are we sure the 44-40 is the correct fluid to use?

Well since they don’t list the RHO transfer case in the manual, it’s tough to say. Sure, no. Likely, yes.

The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO has a BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case. This transfer case is designed to help the truck navigate off-road obstacles and various weather conditions.

Features:
  • Low range: The RHO has a 2.64:1 low range ratio, which is ideal for rock crawling

  • Upgraded internals: The transfer case has improved internals for durability and strength

  • Flat-towing: The RHO can be flat-towed while in neutral

  • Four-wheel-drive system: The RHO has a four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case

I called the dealer where I purchased my RHO and talked to the service manager. He inform me that my transfer case and front axle levels were not part of the initial inspection. He said he will happily inspect that for me to ensure everything is where it should be. I have made an appointment. Please don’t assume it’s part of the normal inspection process.
