Clapped out Tesla for commuting
For all of the trucks that have been lifted, have you used launch control for a hard launch to see if your transmission hangs up in first gear?

I had my 2” foutz kit installed yesterday (same time as the alignment TSB was performed) and now when I use launch control it bounces off the rev limiter before trying to shift into 2nd.

It would be hard to link the two, but it seems another truck with shifting issues has also been leveled (@Elonmsk). Just trying to gather more info on the problem. Thanks!

Have you gone into Race Options? To what RPM is the LC defaulted?

Mine came back from the TSB steering update with a 4K default launch RPM, which is too high & the truck will enter limp mode if attempted.

Stranger, when I lower the LC RPM, it randomly returns to 4K. So, I check it every time.

I’ll have to check that.

Mine defaulted to 3500RPM before the software update. And, if I lowered it, it stayed lowered.

Why did Ram set the RPM to a default at which RHO can’t be launched (under most circumstances)?

I know...that doesn’t answer your lift question? Sorry.

Great question. Even when it was set to 4k it didn’t get that high.

Mine didn’t either…went into limp mode at 2500RPM. Surprised me. I had used the feature at least 2 times without issue before the TSB update. Nobody said anything about the update modifying LC.

The end result: We took my wife’s Tesla on our previously cancelled road trip. Sad, when a base Tesla is more trustworthy than your brand new $80K Ram.

Why was the road trip previously cancelled? Oh yeah, the Ram was stuck in service at the dealer!

Do I sound bitter? Yup. Ha!

Yup. My clapped out Tesla has never let me down either. Lol

Isn’t there a level sensor that should be modified? All new cars have them and I’m certain there’s one on our RHO. That could be throwing the stability control or something off for sure.

Chris

There is a great article about the suspension. Let me see if I can find it.

Found it!! It’s for a TRX but ours are darn near identical

I lifted my truck with Gieser Springs a few weeks which I didn't notice an affect on the rev limiter at the time even while in sport and Baja mode in southern Utah... My truck performed a software update a few days ago and when I tested Launch Control I ran into the Rev limiter @ 6500 RPMS. I tested this is in Launch Control, Sport and Auto which all experienced the same Rev Limiter issue at approximately 6500 RPMs. I believe my truck just updated to the latest software - Build Number: FCA-MY24.U35.26-PROD Curious what is your software version?

I’ll check mine here shortly.

I give up. How do you check the software version. My truck won’t connect to WiFi currently. I must be too far away.

I never connected my truck to WiFi and still received 2 updates. So not sure you need to be and thinking about it all my rams were never connected and were receiving updates.

I wasn’t sure if you needed to be connected to see what version you have. I was going cross eyed looking through the menus so I gave up. Only thing I saw was something labeled “software updates” but it wanted to connect to WiFi.

I am also in this boat 2" level , rev limiter on wot sometimes

I’m going to try a ride height calibration at the dealer tomorrow. We’ll see what happens.

In your settings menu, all the way at the bottom, look for “version information”. It might say “system information” in the menu buttons. This is an old picture, but you’ll get the idea.
