I know this is an RHO forum, but there’s been some speculation here about whether the TRX would suffer some of the same problems our RHO brothers have experienced. If the grass was greener maybe I’d consider the Hellcat, along with the downsides of shorter range, heavier front end, and lower payload.

Based on this recent post on the TRX forum, the answer is sadly, yes. The TRX it seems is not immune to buggy electronics. It shouldn’t be a surprise, since they use the same electronic architecture, still disappointing.

Most of us here have had good experiences and until recently my MY25 L1 has been great. At 13,800 miles I got bit by a throttle control module issue. Running an optimization cycle using a NOCO Genius 10 seems to have resolved that and related issues for now. Glad I wasn’t on a road trip.

I’m still of the mind most of the electronic issues are related to the poor quality OEM batteries. I’m planning on replacing the batteries soon.

I’m NOT planning on replacing my RHO 👍

Anyone here considering the TRX?

I have a late 26 build (June 24th) and it seems a good many of the issues the 25 models had have been eliminated. Yet some issues remain and I'm very disappointed in the hands free assist which is one of the reasons I bought this thing. I'll admit I'm a lifelong hemi dinosaur and I really can't abide this motor. If I drive it in sport mode it keeps the turbos spooled up longer and performance is pretty good but you really don't get much mpg relief because you're driving a six so I'm not sure what the point is. You shouldn't be worried about mpg if you bought this and at the end of the day I'm not either but that's missing the point. And it just sounds like shit. Add downpipes, resonators, etc you basically get louder shit.

All of that would seem to make a case for a TRX, but not for me. The two trucks are basically identical except for the motor so all of the issues you have on the RHO will show up in the TRX. I'm not sure why you'd expect they wouldn't. I'd love to have another hellcat cause I love the powerplant. Smmoth, instantaneous power. But for me it just isn't worth an extra $30k to get the motor and still have all the architechture issues. My RHO listed at $92, I paid $78, and I'd be paying MSRP on the TRX so $30k.

I'll wait for either the new Ramcharger or the Jeep Grand Cherokee to come out for the 28 model year with that beautiful 392 Apache and I'll trade the RHO and ride off into the sunset. I'll lose a few tenths of a second and I don't really care, its not a race car. At the end of the day low end response in everyday driving and reliability are more important to me. In the meantime I'm really enjoying the RHO and I'm happy with the purchase, but as someone said I won't be keeping this one 10 years.

Everyone on this forum knew there was going to be the same issues....The question is, did the Trx people think it was going to be different...I love my RHO, but if they throw a HO in a Grand Cherokee I may have to make my wife get one!

just today I saw a post on Facebook saying something "finally getting my new TRX, will be trading my POS RHO in".. :D not sure why they think since they bought it for more money it will be better or something.. it's the same truck people, just with different engine.. which from what I seen so far is probably one of few parts on the RAM that doesn't have any issues.

Exactly, the Hurricane and transmission are two reliable pieces so far.
