Just curious on y’all’s opinion for the Diablo Cat 6 or the JB4 Tune. Thinking of possibly tuning my baby, and trying to see if I can get some Pros and Cons, maybe any issues they’ve ran into from anyone that’s tuned theirs already. Thanks!!!

Sitting on the sidelines myself here. So paranoid about the possibility of having my warranty voided, especially after having spent extra on extended warranty 💸

I'm worried about that too. Especially after finding out my 2026 will have a 100k powertrain warranty. Some people act like it isn't a legit concern but it absolutely is. They will 100% void your powertrain warranty.

On the rare chance that there is a complete powertrain failure I really don't feel like spending a ton of money out of pocket to have it fixed. Personally it's not just financially in the cards for me. Spending 80k on the truck was already a bit of a stretch. This is also will by my only vehicle, so not interested in giving any more reasons for potential downtime.

For those who it wouldn't affect though, I'd definitely say rock on. If that was my situation, I'd hook up a Jb4.

The Cat 6 is a piggy back tuner so in theory once removed should be factory since it doesn’t alter the ECU. not sure Stellantis engineers would pull other vehicle data, so I feel like you could deny it if engineering went that far which they probably wouldn’t. You never know these days though. I also have a 10yr max care warranty on it, but I really want to pull the trigger 🤪

I think there's a thread on here about them. I have the JB4 and a few have the Cat. I believe you can do more with the Cat but I like the JB4 it serves its purpose on Map 1/91 octane. I added a pedal mod as that was extra and I think the Cat has it embedded already. Both are quick installs/removals for any maintenance work at the dealer.

The main issue is they can and definitely will pull things like boost logs, so they can absolutely tell that it had a Jb4 or Cat6. They probably wouldn't do this for minor work, but for any major claim (replacement engine, transmission etc) they certainly will.

It's such a rarity that this would happen though, so it's up to the owner to decide if they want to take on the risk or not.

Me personally, I don't want to take on the risk. Especially with a powertrain thats relatively new and unproven.

If I had another vehicle, and 15k sitting around that I didn't care about- I'd absolutely do it though haha. You have to pay to play and unfortunately I'm a cheap ass 😂

My hope is they do what Ford did with the Raptor line and offered a factory tune for under 1k that maintaned the warranty. I keep wanting to pull the trigger on the cat 6 but I also bought the extended warranty so have a bit more on the line if found and denied a claim.

Even the Ford tune on the Bronco 2.7 will drop your power train warranty to 3 yr/36K! No bueno!

This 100%.

I'd easily spend 2k (or more) on a tune that brought it to 600hp and maintained the factory warranty.

Unfortunately, I don't think this will ever happen.

i'm in the same boat. I REALLY want the CAT6......but my truck was in the shop for 7 weeks. Ram did compensate me with a 100K max care warranty and some cash. With all I've been through I don't want to void my warranty.

I must be an old Nancy boy. I've never stomped on it and thought "man this 6000 lb truck really needs more"
Yeah im in the same boat. Power is excellent in this truck. I see no reason to potentially void warranty over minimal gains. I feel like if you want more power its a cheaper route to buy a used trx and/or build it to 800+ hp if you want gobs of power. can score a 21 or 22 trx for 60k and have it to 800 hp for a cheap.

Just to add here are some items that will validate factory and extended warranties. All Common Sense. Copied from my extended Warranty :)

I know the risks of modification I work in the automotive service industry currently and for the last nine years. I’m just looking for insight on people that have tuned theirs already and how they like it or dislike those two options. It has a ton of power already, was just curious how people were liking it 🤷‍♀️

I'm really enjoying the Cat 6 on mine.

I run on Map 3 100% of the time.

Power is very smooth and the drivability is just like the factory tune, just more power throughout the powerband. I have the boost by gear set to 100% in all gears and I use the level 4 setting on the throttle mapping (similar to Pedal Commander or the like)

To do 0-60 under 4 seconds in these trucks is so inviting. I mean….being it on man! My coworker has a 1500 HP GTR. Even with its absurd performance even he is impressed a truck this size, 35’s and all has the potential to post a 0-60 in the 3’s.
Perhaps in 7 years when my warranty is up I can finally partake in the madness.

My truck on 37s and the tire set up I have now have weighed it her down a ton, though she still gets it. I’m curious how she would do if a decide to tune her a little 😂

Yeah a 6000+ lb truck doing 4 second 0-60 is more than adequate for me! Makes me smile!!
