I know the risks of modification I work in the automotive service industry currently and for the last nine years. I’m just looking for insight on people that have tuned theirs already and how they like it or dislike those two options. It has a ton of power already, was just curious how people were liking it

I have the jb4 on mine and absolutely love it,really wakes it up. Really hoping for high flow cats next.

I’ve researched this myself a bit and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act states a dealership or manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply for using aftermarket parts like the Cat6 or JB4 unless they can definitively prove that the part directly caused the failure or damage in question. For example, a tune or modification would need to be shown as the direct cause of an issue, such as an engine or transmission failure, for a warranty claim to be denied.

They diagnostic tools they use may detect a prior flash in some cases, but dealers must still provide evidence that the modification caused the specific issue to deny a claim.

Personally I have had several different vehicles with piggy back style programmers and brought them to the dealer, and nothing was mentioned. I haven’t had big issues though either. That said, I haven’t come across a post or have heard anything about someone’s warranty getting denied because of a programmer. Granted some dealerships look for every reason to deny a claim.
