Am I reading the Uconnect connected services agreement correctly?
It looks like the cool Hand Free Driving option is a 3 year trial period. after that it goes away unless you sign up for an extended plan.
Looks to be different plan options, but why advertise hand free driving and not mention its a trial, and to continue using you must pay.
It expires 3 years from your in service date
Can someone also take a look at this and verify this is true!

I noticed this as well. I can't even get my hands free driving working and non of the dealers seem to know why. Keep getting the "unsupported road" message. This is on the QE2 in AB which is our main highway. A little disappointed as this is something I was looking forward to when I purchased the truck.

That’s how it works. GM is the same way with their super cruise feature. Free for so long and then it costs you a kidney to keep the feature active.

Wonder what the hands free button does after hands free expires? Just a normal cruise?

That would be nice. Can I cancel hands free early? Absolutely despise not having normal cruise option.

Doesn’t matter if you’re subscribed to it or not, if the truck is configured for it, there’s no way to have regular cruise control.

@Eighty
Why did my first few posts on this forum post immediately, but these last few in this thread wait for moderator approval?

Someone else (probably Nitro) approved your posts, so I didn’t see what triggered the approval requirement. Probably keywords and/or hyperlinks from a new member.

So I can understand in winter that adaptive cruise can be a pain but why else would someone hate that vs normal cruise?

I actually have no idea why the season matters.

Why I prefer standard is just due to driving habits. I like to set my speed at what I would like to travel at, and when I get close to a vehicle I can merge and go around them at that same speed.

With adaptive, if I am not watching my speed I'll end up going at a slower speed and not gaining ground, thus removing my cue ingrained from a lifetime of driving the other way.

Is it a major thing? No. Can I learn to live with it? Yes. But I genuinely don't understand the benefits of adaptive cruise.

Ice on the sensor's makes it so it won't allow adaptive cruise to be used. Since there is not standard cruise you lose cruise control until you clear the sensors off.

Ah ok. Haven't had that yet but good to know and makes sense. Another tally in the standard cruise column.

that is sad.

have to be careful not to order it.

I would only want regular cruise control.

so i had some time today and called the Ram connected services customer service number and the rep had no idea what i was talking about. he put me on hold and asked someone else and they were aware of a subscription for the hand free service but had no idea how much or for how long. so i’ve found with FCA if you call them good luck getting any competent answers. Just like the phone as a key scam. no clue when that will be available also. Getting to be a clown show
