Hi, not sure if I am mistaken, but it seems that my truck has 2 different types of seats. The passenger seat has a textured type of leather right under the RHO badge, while this area is smooth on the drivers seat. Does anyone else have these same types of seats or is there some issue on my seats? I attached pictures below. One closeup and one further back of each seat.

Just run down to check mine because when I saw it was like ohh h.. no. But mine are both sides textured. I guess I'm still staying without issues on my rho 🤣

damn so there is something wrong with mine i suppose. maybe just a less textured piece of leather they stitched in there. i’m not too much of a stickler so if this is the only issue my truck has, ill happily live with it lol

Yeah I would of been very surprised if I didn't notice because I notice a lot. My wife hates it when I see her wheel curb rush or anything on her car the same day it happens haha

...or you have two wrong ones! Who's to say textured is right?

I think it happens sometimes with real leather. Mine has a few pieces like this and a couple feel a little different, almost kind of like a matte finish. I have a couple areas to where the stitching is almost like it didn’t get pulled out enough in the corners. I don’t think I’ve really noticed it since the first couple times I checking my truck out and cleaning it.

Brings back memories . . . I worked out a deal on a 2020 Ram Limited "night edition" or whatever they called them. I drove 3 1/2 hours and didn't take the vehicle over this same issue. It was in the back seats - but there was clearly different leather on the seats and it annoyed me enough to walk away.

Would you guys make an issue of this? I’ve had the truck about 10 days so too late for anything like refusing it, but it should be a warranty item if anything?

It would have to really eat at me to make an issue of it. Who know how much bickering you have to do to get them to agree to address this under warranty - and even if they do, the wait time would probably be pretty lengthy.

I probably wouldn't. I'd be more concerned that the repair process would cause more harm than good.

Says right on the RHO Leather care card that each seat is unique and contains markings, lines, and creases or in your case a lack there of on the Drivers seat lol. I am super OCD with rips, chips, etc but I would be fine with the grain difference on the seats myself

The 2025 Laramie loaner I’m in had the “textured” seats. I’d ask my dealer
Just to see if it could be swapped. If not, I’d live with it.

Uhhhh...Leather is a natural product, or at least it is supposed to be. If you wanted seats that looked like they came from the Lazy-Boy showroom, ya should have checked the Sensafin option.

I doubt that Ram would consider non matching leather textures to be a warranty item that they would replace. Like someone else said, if it were paint flaw or chip, I'd be bothered. But the leather wouldn't bother me. Like wood grain and granite patterns, embrace the natural discrepancies and variances that the materials offer. Paint is supposed to be perfect. Leather is not. Cloth seats should be exactly the same as each other. Not so with leather.

Also, in your scenario, the driver’s side will generally become more distressed over time than the passenger side, due to the fact that there’s not always someone in the passenger seat. So the smoothness will fade and become more distressed. It won’t match the textured passenger side, but should definitely decrease the contrast/discrepancy between the two seats. It’s a better scenario than the passenger seat being smooth and the driver side textured.

Leather can have variations from different hides!
