2025 Ram 1500 RHO
First of all, I think it's fair to point out that I don't keep trucks much longer than 2–3 years. I usually get bored and move on to something new. While I've genuinely enjoyed my RHO, I believed someone would have cracked the ECU by now, considering the 2025s have been selling since 2024. Now that Ram is releasing the TRX again, I'm concerned that shifting interests may only slow down any momentum the RHO had moving in this direction. It seems the RHO-to-TRX relationship is quite a bit different from the Raptor-to-Raptor R debate, which I suspect is largely due to the price difference.

The cars and trucks I do keep around are usually the ones that become projects, as I really enjoy modifying my vehicles. I'm aware of all the piggyback tunes, but being able to actually program the ECU (and transmission, if they make it that far) is a game changer in terms of what it allows you to change and adjust.

So, I've been considering buying a 2022–2024 TRX because of the aftermarket support for these platforms. Is there anyone who's made that switch that you're aware of and later regretted it?

I made the opposite switch. 21 TRX to 26 RHO and I miss black Betty every single day.

This is how I’ve been feeling as well. I feel like it’s been empty promises about getting an actual tune/ECU unlocked for a hot minute now. I bought the RHO in mind of what “could” be possible. Coming from a Raptor where it was very tunable.

Now seeing the new TRX and any Raptor R I feel like I may of made a wrong move. Absolutely love the RHO and what I’ve done definitely makes it feel like it’s got some more to it just know that I’m limited.

I've said this before...Purchasing a used Trx is like falling in love with a Hooker...You may be in love, but you know there will be problems!
First of all...amazing response!

However, I've been under the impression the TRX is Ram's most reliable 1/2 ton truck. Aside from the electrical gremlins they all face (All my Fords included) what else should I look out for? I won't buy anything high mileage, so I'm being very selective. I like the TRX because my air bag setup transfers directly over.
