YES! Thank you for the update some GREAT NEWS. I was honestly starting to shop for some off the lots the last few days as i’ve been without a vehicle for about 3 months and it’s taken a toll on the fam having to swap cars for work and figure out availability.
I have a dumb question. With it having been so long since Canyon Lake was available to order, how is it they're still building them?
Because they don't build in a linear fashion from the list of orders. They just toss all the orders in a jar, and pick them out randomly to build. Or something along those lines.
Example - since the beginning of May (7 days ago), they've built trucks with serial numbers ranging from 157774 to 420619.
The model year started at 150001. So the lowest number was likely ordered on the very first day of orders (and is finally built, almost a year later). The highest number was only entered into the system a few days ago, and was built immediately.
Holy cow... wow. Thanks for the explanation. Jeez beasties, I hope I don't fall into one of those long term buckets when I order next month!
Well, the good news for late-model-year orders is that they are virtually guaranteed to be built fairly quickly since the model year closes out in July. There's always the slight chance they just cancel it (or convert to a '27), but that's pretty rare.
EDIT: But with that said, I think they're closing MY26 orders at or near the end of May. So if you want one, you'd better do it soon. Otherwise, you may be forced to order a '27 and then be in the first big group that possibly waits the entire year to get built.
Well that won't help me. I plan on specifically ordering a 2027 when orders open. Hope the gamble pays off since msrp has already increased.
Ah, ok. Well, you're cooked then. The early orders in any model year are the ones with the most variability on build dates. Some go quickly, others not so much.
I ordered one of the first 2022 Rebels (in May of 2021), and it was built in October - and built wrong because their ordering system wasn't configured properly for the new model year. It had an 8.4" Uconnect screen instead of 12", and it had manual folding mirrors instead of power folding. So I walked on it and ordered another one. It was built/delivered in December, but by that time I had already given up and taken an inbound TRX. Worked out well for me, because the TRX was my dream truck anyways.
If you look at the current 2026 model year, I highly suspect that they canceled a TON of the early orders for the same reason (faulty configurations). Here's a chart of the current status of all builds (by "group", which is groups of 1000 orders). Notice how groups 150 thru 245 have so many unbuilt serial numbers? Starting at the 245 group or so, they've been fairly consistent at building 90-95% of them.
