‘26 Grand Wagoneer…no HO Hurricane…600+HP/TQ from plug-in EV with Pentastar range extender

Can't say I'm surprised. I would steer ANYONE away from the 6.2L L87 motor following the failure I experienced.

On another note....my wife got her '25 Grand Wagoneer Friday and it's pretty damn awesome! For a grocery getter....it's pretty top notch. And I'm pretty certain it'll surprise a lot of Mustang owners out there! I may have to test that theory and report back.....
which model did she get?

But it's also a plug-in hybrid. Do we REALLY want to trust Stellantis with MORE electrical stuff considering all the gremlins with the RHO? Plus the new transmission replacing the nearly bullet-proof 875HP that's been pretty flawless for the last how many years....why the change? New Hybrid AND new transmission in one vehicle? I've already played test dummy with the RHO.
I might be wrong but looks like it is not a plug-in hybrid, rather an extend range EV with the motor serving as eletricity generator and the vehicle is driven by electronic motors. I expect 4s or even faster 0-60mph given the paper number.

From what I've read (very little) it is a plug-in hybrid but optional. Electric-powered with the gasoline engine serving as a generator (as you said) to charge the battery on the go. But you can plug it in to charge the battery for full electric driving for roughly 150 miles before the ICE kicks in.

So you're basically the stunt double for bad decisions? 🤣 Come on now...we all jumped in with 2 feet....a couple of creepers here on the forum dipped their toes in the water and got scared...while a few have been burned...most of us have been justly rewarded ;)

They hybrid sounds intriguing for sure...im guessing they went with a different transmission to adapt the electric motor between the two and keep the length manageable.

But even the non-hybrid SO powered models get the new 880RE transmission. I suppose that would eliminate the need to manufacture multiple units though.

Ohhhhhhh.......according to Google;

a specific Stellantis-built, 8-speed automatic transmission based on a ZF Friedrichshafen AG design, notably used in the 2026 Dodge Charger SIXPACK models. It is the "Gen4" version of the transmission and is a robust and versatile gearbox designed to handle a torque rating of up to 600 lb-ft.

So maybe it wont be so bad....guess we will all find out :oops:

my point was more about GM full-size SUVs being top sellers & all offer V8 power. I think there is a connection
I don't believe the above has a connection. I say that based on the following.

The highest concentration of full-sized SUVs is rolling through the private school drop-offs; like 8 of 10 are Denali's at my kid's school. Of those 8 Denali's maybe 1 knows it's a v8. My wife, she's had ~10 of them, she doesn't know what a v8 is nor does she care.

Secondly, the 'power' coming out of full-sized SUV GM land is a joke. Those v8's aren't anything to hold a hat on, (hence my shift to an RHO). By that I mean, having a v8 isn't really a selling point in the GM space.
