8/21 safety recall

I got an OTA yesterday. I never had a backup camera issue, but it seems to have resolved my android auto disconnects.
That would be worth it for me

That's crazy, my AA has gotten 10x worse with the update. I've reset the head unit, wiped the cache and data in phone, deleted phone from truck, deleted vehicle from Android auto in phone. Same shit. I use to be able to get it to connect and then it would drop connection 3 times before leaving the neighborhood. Now it struggles to connect. I'm gonna try purging it out again later today but I doubt it will do anything

Hi everyone! If anyone would like for us to look into potential recalls associated with your vehicle specifically, don't hesitate to DM us. We can gladly check for answers and extended information related.

Unfortunately, I had to give it a few more days, but it went back to not working. I reported it to ramcares. Just a side note, I also have a 30 dollar wireless adapter plugged into my uconnect system and my phone will connect to that flawlessly and show my AA through the uconnect. Hate to have to buy a simple device, but it works well, better that the uconnect device itself and AA shows up flawlessly with it.

What adapter are you using?
From Amazon. Type in Android Auto wireless adapter. Most work with AA and Carplay. Very simple setup. It's just dongle looking device. It will connect to your BT first, then after a minute, the wifi will connect. After that, as long as it's in your uconnect usb port, it will automatically connect eveytime. There are plenty of options out there, but this is what i picked. https://a.co/d/00EOq9Oz

Have you done a hard reset? My AA has gone back to dropping, but i have no where the issues you are experiencing.

The only reset I've done in uconnect is pressing the 2 knobs for the 15 seconds not sure if that's a hard or a soft reset. When I do that and it boots up android AA connects within 15 seconds. But once I turn off the truck and get back in, I'm in the same boat. I'm just gonna try the aftermarket dongle. I use to have one for my Chevy but I gave it to my buddy when I sold him the truck

I'm also gonna test the native wireless AA later today on a new s26. I'm want to rule out that it's not a phone issue, I have an s24+

Just found the hard reset. Did the reset and my truck paired without issue. Which isn't the problem I've been having. I'll go back out to the truck and see if it reconnects after about 15 min (that's the biggest issue I've been running into)

****Update****
Went out 20 min later and it re-paired with no issue. I'll continue to monitor and test
🤞🏻

Sounds good. Your actions with the knob is a soft reset. If you go into the settings, close to where the build is, there is an option for factory/system reset. That would be your hard reset. It will delete everything, including your profile, music stations etc and you'll have to rebuild it back.

Dropping my truck off for this update tomorrow, along with hopefully the other two recalls, persistent P2179 and P2189 codes (lean operation, both banks), PSU update for battery drain, and who knows what else. I believe that (a) the entire Stellantis software development team, or at least its leadership, needs to be fired immediately, and (b) this may not be a long term ownership experience. As compared to my Palisade, which received consistent OTA updates twice per year, sometimes with feature updates, since 2022, and never had a CarPlay connection issue, ever. There's just no excuse for this level of haphazard, sloppy engineering.

Ok thank you for the advice on the hard reset. So far that has fixed 99% of the issues. I got it to connect and reconnect multiple times without issues. The third time it did have a "catastrophic failure" and the android auto icon next to the phone and music icon in device manager disappeared. I removed the phone and repaired it. So far it has been working flawlessly with no drops or issues connecting. I'll continue to monitor

For those that had the rear camera uConnect update, what was the version number post update? Mine is U39 (Dec 2025 build). I've never had an OTA update but oddly, my digital key worked perfectly without an OTA.

So, ramcsres told me even though I got my OTA update, I'll still need to bring it for a software update recall.

There is a software update on the PCM. That I did have done when I did my oil change. But the one for uconnect was OTA
