Keep fighting the good fight! The intake was kind of a pain to put in, took more effort than I thought it would.
I did it as it satrted getting dark a while back and it was driving me nuts, once the filter popped into place it was smooth sailing
I did finally get it in. I appreciate your help. Support threw me when they said told me it was not supposed to snap in place and was good not sealing and just hanging there. I guess they may be involved on the message board here since after I posted, support amost immediately responded and said that it was supposed to snap in place and I need to keep trying.
I did offer them some suggestions for notes to add in their instructions to possibly help people avoid the problems I went through. Whether or not they care will be up to them.
Even though I was able to eventually get the filter to snap in place, the fit between the turbo inlet gasket and the filter housing is so tight as soon as I tried to install the pipe the filter immediatley fell out. I asked them if there was any reason they would recommend against placing a towel or folded cardboard between the housing and filter as a spacer to hold in place while installing the pipe, because trying to rotate the pipe and filter into position while pulling the filter flange through the housing and trying to get to snap back in place was enough to drive me crazy, and if you did not know it WAS possible, you would not believe it. Especially since, I could be wrong, but I believe that the pipe and filter must be oriented (rotated) pretty much exactly or it will not work.
Also, in the instruction they havee you put on the metal piece that extend over the pipe prior to installing the pipe. Since I have taken this apart and put back together several times now, I do not see any benefit to installing this first. All it does is makes installing the pipe more difficult than it has to be and is another thing you could scratch the pipe on.
At the end of the day, everything worked out. I appreciate everyone taking the time to respond.
I understand the comments about HP, but personally I decided to go with this to get rid of the sound damping and because it looks nice. Yes it was expensive, but out of the intakes I saw I liked it the best.
As soon as I am able, I would like to put some downpipes on it and eventually bigger turbos if that is ever on the table.
