Airbag Failure??

Interesting seems like content creators have the most issues with their RHO. How convinent for them
I’m not a “content creator” beyond posts to this forum. In 4 months of ownership, my RHO has the most crap issues of any of the 30+ new cars I have purchased over my lifetime. And, the factory assembly and handling defects/damage are on another level.

So, it’s not creators “creating” an image of shoddy build & reliability. It’s the truck creating its own drama. No need to “make stuff up” when it’s all there.

Yes there’s definitely a QC issue. I can’t imagine it’s across their whole line, but I suspect with as much that goes to a secondary plant for finalization(I’m not positive they’re built with all the other 1500s) that’s where the problems begin to arise.

Hopefully someone knows more how the RHOs are built

Chris

Still it’s always wise to call your mom :)

This is my truck. Insurance covered this under comprehensive and is going to sue Ram to recover damages. It cost about $11,000 to fix.

Someone from Stellantis came to the dealer and investigated the airbag system. They managed to break a bunch of plastic panels and clips. I then received a phone call from someone at Ram corporate where they attempted to gaslight me and blame me for the faulty airbag system.

I decided to pull the truck from the dealer and field test the deployment thresholds. If I make a hard evasive maneuver, it will set off the side airbags and seat belts. It seems like something is wrong with my truck.

Interesting.....what did the insurance say about you field testing it and setting off the airbags again?

Chris

I didn't mention field testing to insurance. I tested the truck to satisfy my curiosity and for the NHTSA report.
