first time owning a pickup. How can I place my baggage in the bed without sliding? Bed devider or and other products? Thanks!

They make rubber mats in the footprint of the bed, at a basic level that’ll help keep things from sliding around too much. For this truck I’m considering a CargoGlide (Decked) or similar from another brand, and I’ll keep a few cases in there for stuff I always want in the bed. Then accessing those cases or loading/unloading other things should be easy. Haven’t owned one before but I think I’ll be doing this for the RHO. And a tonneau cover on top to keep it covered.
On my Power Wagon I have a Decked drawer system. For smaller items the drawers are great and keep things organized. Larger items have to go on top, and although there are multiple spots to tie down on the actual deck, the likelihood of me climbing up there to do that is very small (especially since I have a SmartCap on there so it becomes a little tight) unless it truly needs to be tied down. So for smaller things it’s been great, you do lose some space in the dead space bed between the drawers, and it effectively raises the level of your bed quite a bit. In the PW this means it’s especially high since it’s raised and on 37s. My skis don’t fit in the drawer so in the winter I remove one so i can use that spot for skis. Not ideal. I don’t think any system is, just depends on what the priorities are. I’m interested also in what ideas people have here and what has worked for you all on other trucks…

I have had Decked Storage Systems in my last 4 trucks. If I ever get the RHO I'm not sure it will work because of the weight on the soft suspension. On all the other half ton trucks I've had I had to add overload springs to keep them from swatting due to the added weight of the Decked and the stuff I put in it.

Trying to figure this out myself. Right now pretty sure I will do the Diamondback either SE or HD, smooth finish, and probably 4 cleats (two on each side), with the diamondback 13 cross box. But I go back and forth if I need a divider too. Anyone have any luck with those tension bars? I don’t want stuff sliding too far back if there is not much in there. Never had a tonneau cover before, I think it will be great.

man thx for the info! I am also looking at the inflatable camper to put on the bed.

Don't most truck bed inner walls have cutouts specifically to hold 2x4 or 2x(whatever) for this purpose?

I use this from Last Boks in my Laramie (purchased on Amazon). It is nice because you can slide it onto the tailgate load it up and push it back into the bed. Reverse that process for unloading. It is also easy to clean up if something drips or spills (e.g., diesel can for my tractor). It is also easy to remove and doesn't interfere with my tonneau cover. I'm not sure if they are making them for the RHO yet but there is another manufacturer making a similar item that is mentioned in another thread on this forum.

No need to spend a lot of money, something like this is $35 and can be removed easily when not needed and put in place within seconds.

I thought about one of these but it doesn't keep smaller things from rolling around unless you add a net to it. I used to use a 2x6 installed into the slots in the bed but I'm getting old and got tired of leaning over the tailgate to reach things.

Truxistm.com makes a good bed divider, and you can get extra mounts to secure gas cans, tool boxes, etc.

Check out this thread on the TRX Forum:

This Mopar one mounts to the factory bed utility rails and can slide forward and backward to anywhere that you need it.

I have this from the factory in my Raptor. I want to do some measurements and see if it will adapt to the Ram. Flipped forward it’s a divider, flipped backwards it’s an extender. And it folds up against the side out off the way if needed. Wish they made a Ram version. Maybe they do.

some places say this works best with a bed cover?

what happens with no bed cover?

Air/wind will probably blow it around and try to 'dump' it, especially with little or no weight in it.

It is installed with two straps attached to hooks in the bed. If there is no cover and items in the box aren't strapped or weighted down they could fly out of the bed when driving.
