anyone else had a vibration issue on highway? Felt in steering wheel/up front

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Goodyear does not know how to make a tire that rides good or last long.

I tend to agree, I would never intentionally buy Goodyears for one of my vehicles. Manufacturers must get killer discounts from them, so many brands use them on new cars and every version that I've had were terrible. My last set on my 2021 Ram Limited didn't make it to 20k miles.

I have the vibration issue at around 70 mph as well. Discount inspected and balanced the tires as well as checked road force balance, and all is well with the wheels/tires. I then asked the dealership to check things out at my last service, including what I perceive to be a slight pull to the right. I mentioned the TSB for pulling to the right to the dealership and was told that it isn’t applicable to my VIN.

I also mentioned that there have been some reports of driveshafts being out of balance, which leads to vibration. I was told that the lead technician drove the truck, and it “drives normally for a vehicle of this type with these types of tires.”

Feels like the dealer kicked the can down the road and doesn’t really care about my concerns. @RamCares any thoughts here?

had the same exact issue, thought it was the wheel spacers, but it was the wheels out of balance

Lane assist is annoying too this bitch is wide.

Ok update on this, had truck into discount tire 3 times now rotated tires, ballanced 2 more times. Last time the road force ballanced and said it had higher number than what they would like to see. I have a big road trip tomorrow and am pretty sure I will be seeing the ballance issue from 65-80mph on the highway. Steering wheel you can see move, kids hands shaking in car seat. Will keep you posted when I figure this out. I am starting to wonder if this truck needs tires and they were bad from day 1.

maybe try other shop than "discount tire"? sounds like Dollar general of tire places

Another possibility is that tires have become permanently flat-spotted. TireRack has an article on it and it’s not all that uncommon on vehicles that are parked for extended periods, especially in cold weather.
When I test drove my RHO it was up on a display pedestal kind of thing and likely hadn’t been moved in a while, and the flat-spotting on the test drive was horrible (it was a cold day also). Luckily it smoothed out , but not until I’d bought it and drove it for a day.

I had this issue on a new set Falken AT4s...Unfortunately I purchased them from Custom offset...I tried to save money by purchasing from them, but in the end it cost me more $$$

My wife’s Frankenstein had a vibration around 40-50 mph. If I remember correctly they flashed the TCM and it fixed it. I think there is a TSB on it. I will check the service records when I get home.

Check this out. Also happened in auto with my wife frequently. I haven’t researched the TSB but the TCM update fixed it .

How did they narrow down bad tires? I've had two dealer visits and paid out of pocket for discount tire to balance them and it shakes like crazy still to this day. Beginning to think these trucks just ride like shit.
My truck rides like a dream !! :ROFLMAO:

My truck recently has had balance issues up front... Discount tire told me one of the tires is out of round and I saw it....not sure if Ram will warranty a tire with less than 10k miles....or I will have to find a road hazard to get it replaced

Chris

How did they determine a tire was out of round exactly?
A road force tire balancer will tell you that too....I had a Falken AT4 that was so bad that when they road force balance it they said I should replace it.

And this but they didnt say it was that bad...yet

I've had my wheels road force balanced 3 times now, and there's an obvious vibration between 65-75mph. Everyone at RAM just keeps disregarding my concerns and saying its normal for larger tires to vibrate, which is absolute bullshit. This isn't my first rodeo with lifted trucks and large tires - Road noise, yes. Vibration, no.
Same exact experience. Going to get them road force balanced and see what they say.

i had a nasty one, turns out inner tie rod has a bunch of play. Waiting on part to come in now.

Having the same issues on my new 2026.. dealer said it was normal at 25-30 and 65-75mph due to it being a lighter engine and same suspension as the TRX w a V8. Such BS answer. Had them force balance and said it was slightly off but balanced them and issue is still there.

So annoying on an expensive truck.

So, I may just be lucky, but my vibration issue is almost entirely gone now. And I didn’t have the dealer do any balancing work.

What changed? Tire pressure…

When I bought the truck, they had all the tires at 44psi. I never felt like it was riding harsh, so I never gave it much attention or thought. Then, one day, I checked the door sticker and saw the recommended PSI was 38. I deflated the tires to 38psi, drove it around town, and didn’t really feel too much of a ride quality difference. But, when I took it out on the highway, I immediately noticed the vibration was less pronounced. After about 1k miles, the vibration is almost entirely gone.

It’s almost like the tires were out of round due to over inflation. Lowering the pressure let the rubber relax and return to shape. That’s just a crazy cause, though, because an extra 6psi really shouldn’t affect the shape of the tire that much. But, at least in my case, it made a difference.
