- 2026 Ram RHO
Purchased a brand-new RHO on October 8th as a gift for my dad. The truck started leaking oil ON THE VERY FIRST DAY, but I didn't notice right away because of my black asphalt driveway. We took it on a road trip on October 9th totaling around 1,000 miles, returned home on October 12th, and that's when I noticed the leak. And was also contacted by my relative that their driveway is also full of oil where the truck was parked
On October 13th, I took it to the dealership, where they told me it was "just the oil pan" and would be fixed in a couple of days. Fast forward, and the truck has now been sitting in service for OVER TWO WEEKS.
October 29th, they finally told me it was ready. I went to pick it up, looked underneath before even leaving the dealership lot, and IT WAS STILL LEAKING OIL.
Now they're saying they need to investigate further and won't have another update until Monday, November 2nd
Wednesday November 4th, RAM Customer Care contacted me today and informed me that the dealership has ordered ADDITIONAL PARTS to continue repairs. To make matters worse, THEY HAVE NO ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE for when the truck will be fixed. At this point, they can't even tell me when I'll get my brand-new truck back.
I asked the selling dealership for a replacement or to reverse the deal, and their response was "The deal is finalized." They told me my only option through them is to trade it in AFTER it's repaired, meaning I'd take a significant financial loss on my down payment, sales tax, and depreciation.
I've also contacted RAM Customer Care, and they're telling me I have to wait until the truck is fully repaired before they can even review my situation.
So basically, I'm stuck waiting for a brand-new truck to be repaired, with no guarantee of any resolution afterward.
Almost an entire month since I purchased this truck, and it's been sitting at the dealership's service department
I've had possession of my brand-new truck for only 5 DAYS, while it's spent OVER THREE WEEKS IN THE SHOP, WITH NO ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE OR ANY INDICATION OF WHEN I'LL GET IT BACK.
During today's conversation (November 4th), I was told that once the repairs are completed, RAM could offer me monetary compensation. I specifically asked if compensation was the only resolution being offered, and the representative confirmed that it was.
I then asked about a vehicle repurchase or replacement, and was told that they could submit my case for review, but ONLY AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN FULLY REPAIRED. Even then, there is no guarantee that either option will be approved.
At this point, I am EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED with how this entire situation has been handled. The lack of urgency, communication, and accountability is incredibly unprofessional.
Any advice or opinions on how to handle this situation?
