Broke down at 120 miles 😬

Ok guys, big update!

Stopped at the dealership today to see what is going on with the truck, service advisor took me to the shop to show me what failed.
This is a transmission oil pipe. It wasn't connected correctly, someone in the factory forgot it's a 2 stage connection. Once I took it on highway it just popped out under the higher pressure and spit all the oil.

So this little simple thing destroyed the whole transmission.

Also from what I understood, RAM doesn't have enough supply of transmissions just sitting around as spares, they had to build it. That's why it takes several weeks to ship.

Talked to the technician, based on the company guidline he's supposed to be all done today. New transmission is already in. Then I want them to update software and test batteries and hope I can drive on weekend. Fingers crossed!

Two weeks. They started the replacement Friday and it should be completed this week - or so they think. FYI, the transmission didn't fail, it just wouldn't upshift from 1-2 when at WOT. Otherwise, it drove completely fine without any issues, no CEL. I was shocked when they said the transmission was being replaced as I didn't think it was a transmission issue and more of some type of PCM Engine/Transmission communication issue.

There's another member on this forum @White RHO that literally went through the same issue, had his transmission replaced, and it didn't resolve anything. He's currently waiting without resolution. @White RHO, feel free to chime in if I'm off the mark.
@Elonmsk your spot on. Exact same issue as you. I’ve been without my truck for over two months now. Buyback process started, now the waiting game. Hopefully Ram figures this out before I get my next RHO.

What do you mean it's a 2 stage connection and what about that connection failed and how can this be checked PRIOR to leaving the dealership when purchasing these stupid things, lol?

from what he explained the line snaps on and locks when turned, similar to some garden hoses. Someone just put it on, didn't lock. I would think only way you can check this is remove the engine skid plate and maybe some other parts? It's all the way in the front actually that's why I thought it was differential at first

That’s not good. I think Stellantis should increase wages for those workers because otherwise they might not tighten the screws properly in the trucks

They did increase the wages. Then the product got shittier.

Ever see an athlete after they get their contract? Same thing. Thank your unions.
