Buying a used RHO sight unseen - am i making a mistake ?

Absolutely agree - its a gamble.

Obviously can improve your odds going with a reputable dealer - doing your homework and using common sense precautions.

Personally - I feel pretty secure in my transition with Mr James Jackson though - he guaranteed I will be completely satisfied with my new RHO and if I am not he will promptly refund the 30k in BTC I sent to him. He has a great Google review and the deal could not be beat.
Yep just because it sight unseen you can still do a bunch of homework prior which is what I did.

Damn that is disappointing to hear.

On the transporter today - hopefully here tomorrow (and in time for the weekend).

Guess it's not a complete blind buy - had someone ive used before with work stop by and test it / look over. Still first time I will see it.
I hope nothing but a huge win for you! Keep us posted

From what I’ve seen, the 25s and 26s both have their fair share of issues, so I don’t think it much matters what MY they stuck on the side of it.

As for carfax… I do all of my own oil changes so my carfax says my truck has never seen new oil. Don’t put too much stock in those reports.

Hope you enjoy it as much as possible up that 60k mark!

So it arrived last night around 9.

Didn't get a chance to spend much time with it or playing with anything in depth. Overall though very pleasantly surprised with the whole experience.

Booked with the lowest cost provider on Uship - knowing its a broker and its a total crapshoot of who you get as a driver. Guy who delivered was actually very respectful and professional. Foreign guy running hot shot - but made good time and made sure there were no issues with the truck at pickup per the dealer. Unusual in my experience - but greatly appreciated.

As to the truck itself - a few nice surprises from the hand off of keys. Hands me 2 sets of keys and what looked like one of those fancy dealer Keychains. Im like cool - dealer only showed one fob in pictures - so having the 2nd is nice as those things ain't cheap. So walk out to look at truck and its even better - truck has a nice flush tonneau cover (not listed and not in photo as photog must have been under 5' as couldn't above bed panel).

Im like cool - just saved a grand on the tonneau I had ordered on Amazon - so cancel that immediately. Then I realize what the 3rd thing on key ring is - its the remote for the tonneau...its a power roll up version. Even better - no idea how dealer doesnt list that - but guessing they just pulled info from sticker and never actually looked at truck.

Going to check out today to make sure no poorly performed-removed mods - but fact someone spent good money on that cover and left suggest that shouldn't be an issue. Always my biggest concern with trucks - finding a rats nest of wires where someone rigged up stuff and then ripped stuff out when they sold.

Outstanding to hear.
Quick note- I live somewhat remotely in central Texas and about 3,000 miles ago I got in my 2026 and immediately noticed a death smell coming from my dash near the glove box.
One of my buddies own a auto repair shop, took it to him and deep behind the glove box was a dead rat/mouse.
Thankfully with the tools he had they were able to remove it. I am amazed how that critter made its way into that area.
My neighbor hooked up his ozone machine and over time the smell and newness returned. I made a decision to put two bags of mothballs, one on each side of the hood and it has helped keep these guys away from the inside of my engine compartment.

My mechanic said had I taken that issue to the dealer it would have been flagged and there would have been warranty challenges moving forward.

FANTASTIC NEWS!!!! Congrats!

RHO owners manual states oil changes are to be every 6k not the 10k you state it had. Warranty issues could come into play, if something does happen to it.
Where are you seeing 6k miles? I looked at the owners manual and all I can find is do not exceed 10k miles.

Glad it all worked out for you man.

Hmm, weird. I am about 5k from my last oil change and my indicator still says 50% oil life left. I know don’t trust that, but there are no dipsticks anymore. The screenshot I posted above was taken from the owners manual in my digital glovebox and just looked to cover all models and yours specifically says RHO. I wonder if that covers all other Rams with the HO Hurricane or possibly a misprint. I watched a video awhile back with an engineer that helped create the v8 5.7 and the new Hurricane engines state that even 10k is conservative on modern engines and modern oil additives.

That sucks - only thing worse in starting your engine on a cold morning and promptly hearing an animal that curled up under the engine to escape the cold.

We had a few of those come in for "detailing" over the years. Glad I wasn't the one that had to clean that shit up - just write the check. Always bought the detail kids lunch the next day after those jobs to keep them happy with me for bringing in such crappy jobs.

Damn manufacturers using soy based wiring doesn't help either. Had plenty of cars show up with squirrel/mice marks everywhere on the wiring harness.
