Corsa exhaust

I think the test mule they had about a year ago sounded better.

Corsa finally posted a comparison video. It definitely has a deeper tone but it’s way too flatulent for me. I don’t need or want the wet farts and cold starts being 15db louder.
Sounds like 🗑️

Two. Whole. Years. And this is what they come up with? I’ll be honest, spending $2k on any of these catbacks, feels like taking your money and flushing it down the toilet. I love my truck, but I’ve accepted that the exhaust is staying stock.

I don't think anything can truly be done with the wet fart sound. From my understanding (I may be wrong) it's the engine retarding at the shift to protect the transmission but it's still injecting the same amount of fuel. The fart sound is from the increased amount of fuel igniting. If someone knows better, please feel free to correct me

You don't like flushing dollar bills? I've been doing it for years with stupid hobbies and dead end relationships

I don’t have that sound at all with my current exhaust set up.

I'll drink to that.

Maybe we're the problem

I guess I should have worded it differently. I'm willing to bet you have it, you've just done a great job muffling it in your setup. The actual wet fart is still taking place, you've just managed to squeeze your cheeks tight enough to scoot under the radar.

I think you’re right because the event is taking place. He’s just not hearing it. That’s kind of why I was asking him a few days back for a drive-by with a shift so you get an outside the vehicle sound clip. We all know what you hear inside of the truck versus what you hear out side of the truck is definitely different. The cab has very good sound deadening.

Many thanks for sharing your experiences on the forum, very helpful for those of us who are obsessed with trying to improve the sound of this truck.

Any chance you can post some videos?

There might be one other consideration on the prominence of the gear shift wet farts that I accidentally stumbled on that I haven’t seen mentioned.

I previously recorded WOT runs of the stock exhaust and the MRT Trail Rated exhausts in the same spot in the same manner separated by about 6 hours.

The stock exhaust was recorded in the morning when it was cool with low humidity. As expected it had very prominent BRAPS on gear shifts as expected. The stock exhaust consistently does this.

The MRT Trail Rated was then installed and I recorded it in the afternoon while it was hot and humid out. No BRAPS on the gear shifts.

While the MRT Trail Rated definitely reduces the gear shift BRAPS, it does occasionally still do this on my truck, just not consistently. It seems like it’s only when the humidity is low.

Humidity is probably a minor variable but it seems like it’s a variable nonetheless.

Higher humidity —> lower O2 available for combustion after the gear shift fuel dump.
