- Ceramic window tint 35% on side windows, 5% brow, Mopar power boards, Tri fold cover
I picked up my RHO Monday (3 days ago) from Mark Dodge. Anthony Boi and Aaron were fantastic.
I spent about 30 minutes there but 20 of that was with Ethan ( I think that was his name) showing me stuff about the truck and answering any questions I had. I was hesitant about the color. When I got there there were probably a dozen RHOs in front of the dealership but I know there were dozens there and I heard 50 arrived the day I got mine. I saw every color except Forged Blue and Hydro Blue. I had been back and forth on what color to order but said screw it and went forged blue. When mine was pulled around I knew I made the right color choice. Pictures do not do this color justice.
Coming from a 2020 Ram limited the ride is different. The air ride is the best ride I've experienced. After a few miles I got used to the ride of the RHO and I love it now. It's just different but it's a Baja truck. The cab loudness or lack of is pretty damn crazy. I once tried Toyo AT2 tires on my limited and 2 days later had street tires put back. I hate a noisy ride and the Toyos weren't bad but I could hear them. The RHO is silent down the interstate. All you hear is the engine in the background but as soon as it shifts to 8th gear it's no longer heard. It seems that as long as the RPMs stay under 2k you don't hear it.
It's quick. Aaron said I won't have full RPM until 500 miles and the launch is not allowed until then either. I've been told that's not accurate but I'm waiting until i get more miles on it before I do any 0-60 runs. Even so it's fast. It's super responsive and a ton of fun. I have driven a TRX and this definitely handles better and feels more nimble. It feels a lot nicer on the inside and more refined as it should with the refresh.
The exhaust took a little while to get used to. It's actually pretty loud at start up and when you get on it. It's just different but does sound good when you get on it. Of course it's not a hellcat engine. When you get on it it feels like it wants to eat the road and before you know it you're doing 90 and it just wants to keep on rocketing faster like it's a 5 month dog that just wants to run. It's just fun!
MPG aren't going to win any awards. I've been around 12 average but I'm pretty sure if you baby it 15 would be doable. Honestly it's so fun to drive I don't care.
I got the power boards installed by Mark Dodge. This gives you an actual step that comes way down vs bolt on stationary boards so it's really easy to get in and out. If I park next to someone I can use the head unit to make them stay down to protect from door dings. I have a shortcut on the home screen just to operate them.
The tires sling mud. Today I installed weather tech mud flaps from 797 performance to fix that issue and talk about fast shipping I ordered them yesterday and put them on today. Here's a link to them. https://797performance.com/products/weathertech-2021-2024-ram-1500-trx-no-drill-front-mudflaps The rear flaps are waiting on bolt hole alignment for the RHO before they're available.
Day one I installed the hard tri fold bedcover I used on my limited. Today I got the windows tinted 35% on the sides with a 5% brow. Once I get the hood decal I ordered from Apex auto styling I'm getting it ceramic coated. Once that is done the add-ons are done.
This truck is a blast!
