Still no luck reading the release notes so no idea what it was supposed to accomplish.

I did/do. That's one reason not knowing the release notes irritates me so much! How can I take advantage of a fix or new feature if I don't know that it exists?

here is what AI says the update consisted of. U42.16 is a stability and refinement update. It tightens the systems that were already updated in U42.15 — especially Digital Key, CarPlay/AA, cameras, and OTA reliability.
I would agree with this as i have had this update for a bit now.

AI can suck it. My RHO and my wife’s Rebel are both on U42.16 and neither have the digital key yet.
