Headlight recall

Can anyone confirm whether this is a test and replace only if faulty recall or if it’s just replace.

Since everything I’ve seen says parts unavailable, don’t do anything yet, seems like they all need to be replaced.

If they were only replacing headlights exhibiting issues wouldn’t they be encouraging everyone to get they’re butts down to a dealer now for an inspection since it’s potentially a serious safety issue?

But then again, I’m sure Stellantis’ legal team is all over this, plausible deniability until parts become available…

See my other thread about the recall trifecta. They will examine the housing to determine if your headlights are in the bad batch. Mine were not.

Yes, but there’s obviously a defect and just because there may be no symptoms yet doesn’t mean it won’t become an issue down the road.

My dealer won’t even look at mine until parts become available. That implies parts need to be replaced but mine has not been inspected yet.

We have a safety recall with no parts to correct it going on for months and dealers refusing to even determine whether the defect exists on your truck until parts became available when parts may not be needed at all?

As with everything else Stellantis, this seems to be a cluster.

That's fair; however, my service notes from today specifically state the following: "inspected the stickers on the headlight housings and found that they both pass and are not part of the bad housings." Based on that explanation: (a) there are specific lot/serial/production/version numbers for these housings and it wasn't possible to determine which exact VINs have the faulty parts, thus the broad recall, or (b) my dealer is being lazy and fabricating the descriptive language above. There are others in this forum whose dealers have examined the headlamps and determined that they didn't need to be replaced. Time will tell!

I think knowing when parts will be available would be a good start @RamCares
