One winter I met a car with bright headlights reflecting off ice… blinding me and looking exactly like they were on bright. I gave a flash. They went past me, turned around, and put the cherries on. Great…So not to bring the mood down, when I was an officer in Illinois…if someone was driving with the bright lights and if I flashed them , and they either wouldn’t turn them off or did what you did…they were getting stopped without question
Didn’t mean I’d always write them but if they put their auxiliary lights on, there was no question.

Trooper told me why he pulled me over. I asked him if he knew how bright his headlights were. “Yeah! That’s why I don’t put them on bright ever!”
Really… cause if you’d had them on bright and dimmed them when approaching me, as I did for you, I would have seen that and known they were on dim and would have had no reason to flash you in the first place.
“Uhhhhhhh… so, I’m just going to give you a verbal warning. You’re really not supposed to flash other cars. Drive safe…” *shuffled off back to his cruiser* never even asked for my paperwork.
I usually am really courteous and polite to officers, but this guy was such a Fudd and it just pissed me off.
