In Bed Molle Panels

I know this post is old , but for the homies with the Amazon panels, I see comments about people recommending to get new hardware because the factory ones rust . Can you guys tell me if you did this and if so, what hardware did you need to replace?
So far no rust in mine yet but pretty low humidity here in Montana. Once they do tho i will be upgrading to some nice stainless hardwear. Your local hardwear store should have it or i just go on mcmastercarr.com. cheers!

I mostly swapped mine so it was hidden. I didn't want shiny hardware.

I changed mine out to prevent rust and my OCD said no to shiny hardware in the black bed. I used stainless black. Hope this helps.

It's an easy install. Remove bedrails. Install large supplied anchor nuts in the bed, then install bedrails and panels with the above longer, stainless hardware. Enjoy.

I really like that set up. Trying to build an overland truck but want to keep it stealth. Try to keep most of it under the locking rollup cover.

Love this! Thank you.

Im happy to cutout access to the electrical outlet at Chinese molle panel pricing. For those that did, did you just take a dremel or similar? I assume would need to apply some form of rust protection of some sort after, or at least some black spray paint to keep things looking tidy?

With the hardware swapout linked above, did that eliminate the rattling? 🤞🏼

Yes, dremel to cut. Painted trimmed edges flst black. No rattling for me. Adding the linked rubber spacers where the panels had any wiggle ensured this.

Dremel or cut off wheel works great! Dremel is a bit more precise if you aren't used to cut off wheels. Then some paint on the exposed edges. Rock and roll .

I said dremel but I meant a cut off wheel on my air compressor. Easy easy.

I do not have the bed utility package and am now going back and forth between purchasing the molle panels and or the RAM bed utility rails. For those that have one or the other or both, what direction would you suggest? I'm wondering if both are overkill if doing the molle.

I personally am glad i have both. i debated ditching the factory tie down sliding hooks when i installed the molle since it ate up space on the molle panel but im so glad i put them back in. I love being able to slide the tie down hooks exactly where you need them. The molle panel have plenty of space anyways. I like both but depends on your use case. I use both regularyly and have so much stuff on the molle panel. i personally wouldn't ratchet strap anything to the molle panels as a tie down point.

Things i have on molle:
-tow strap
-hatchet/sledge
-dirt shovel
-snow shovel
-python cable lock
-saw
-dry bag
-dead blow hammer

i keep my kinetic rope and rigging in the cab. Id like to get the molle panel that goes against the front of the bed (against back window) then add some traction boards to it. Last im going to put a offroad jack mount in the bed, my buddy designs and makes the mounts for the badlands one that goes to the bed. just nervous to eat up that much space when i mainly haul dirtbikes and drill holes in bed..

It sounds like you go off road or maybe are thinking about it?

I use the rails and molle for different purposes, so I'm glad to have both. I don't think it's overkill at all.

It’s time to pull the trigger on the 1st bed accessory, thoughts on either the bed utility rails or juggernaut mounted ratchet straps, purpose is to secure stuff down with the cover up. I do a lot of camping so the Molle panels will happen come spring. I’m thinking I’ll lose the use of the Juggernauts once adding the panels.
