IN STOCK! AWE 0FG Exhaust Available! (ALL VIDEOS) PRE ORDER OPEN (Cold start video added to first post)

Still going......Like you said, there are a ton of pieces to this kit. I highly recommend reading the instructions twice before starting the install.

We got a late start yesterday . On the initial start up we had a few small "spitter" leaks. Going to get them corrected today and make some fitment adjustments. One of the drone cancelling resonators is super close the the frame.

I drove it around yesterday trying to warm it up. It sounds really good. The thing I was most impressed about is there is zero drone at freeway speeds (65-75). Its as quite in the cab cruising at 70mph as it was with the OEM exhaust. Only one issue for me, the cold start is pretty loud. My neighbors are not going to be happy with me at 5am each morning when I start up in the garage.

Once we get the leaks sealed up and all the final adjustments made I will post up a few videos.

I’ll pass on this info to the shop when I drop it off Monday. I was a little worried about cold starts in the morning too, but my truck isn’t in the garage. Is it significantly louder on cold start or just slightly louder than OEM?

In my opinion, its a lot louder, but like you said, I'm in a garage, and backed in at that. I think the biggest difference is that with the factory exhaust, the spring loaded valves start to close pretty quickly after start up and the sound is muffled. There are no valves in the AWE kit. As long as the RPM stays up, its loud. it's not crazy loud. if it wasn't 5am when leave my house I don't think it would bother me at all.

Just an update. We have been fighting a leak from one of the down pipes, where it meets up with the cat, all day. We've tried everything and have not been able to get it to seal up. I tried to reach out to AWE both via phone and email, but have not had anyone contact me back.

There are gaskets that go between the cat pipe and the rest of the exhaust. I believe we may have messed one of them up in the initial install. These gaskets are not sold separately. I believe they come with the clamp, part # 68649162AA. I have ordered some and will report back when I get them.

Extra growl!

How about that other truck you were installing muffler only onto?!

Its still at the muffler shop across the steet. I have been so busy with regular work, and trying to get my truck sealed up that I haven't been able to go pick it up. Hoping to have it back this evening.

Interesting how it will come out. My friend threw in couple flowmasters and yes sound got deeper but produced lots of back fire ( farts ?). I'm sure there's many different mufflers but he took them off immediately. It was done on limited not rho.

Tried to upload clip of mine here but this forum won’t allow it.. trimmed it down to 10 secs and still shows file too large to upload.. It sounds amazing sry can’t share it here.

I had to start a YouTube account to do it… so I guess I’m a YouTuber now.

Maybe give that a shot!

I hate to say it, but I think I’m officially old. I think I’m finally at that age where the loud exhaust is too much for me. Going to drive it this weekend and see if I get used to it. It sounds great when I “want to hear it”, but the problem is I cant turn it down when I don’t want to hear it.

If I am in fact “too old”, and I end up taking it off, someone in the Houston area could get this kit for a steal. …….to be continued.

Man! After all that work I hope you get used to it. Able to record any clips? Would love to hear! But should hear mine Monday 😁

I think it's crazy none of these companies will post in cabin videos with sustained 75-80 mph in 8th gear...they all post mid 60s mph videos to hide drone, as if anyone actually drives that slow.

If you are deleting the valves you will get drone over 2k rpm so yeah around 75mph you will hate your life. This is why I like MF since they include valves unlike AWE and AFE…and their quality and fit is top notch. Just my honest unbiased opinion.

Well 5 hours later it's on. I like it not too crazy loud. After about 10 minutes drive yes one of the resonators touching frame and one of the tips got misaligned but I had enough for today and will do touch up tomorrow.

How has your experience been driving with the AWE for a few days?

Did the clamps come with the new gaskets? I 100% have a small leak here. I haven't been able to get under the truck yet, but I can hear it from the outside at idle.

Yes sir. new gaskets come with the updated clamp part #. These fixed my leaks (y)

MSRP for $59.45 each

DO NOT take the gasket off the clamp when installing. These are meant to be installed as an assembly onto the pipe, and then attached to the cat.

Ask me how I figured that out. 🤦‍♂️:(o_O
